Seems to be, even for CT. I bought my share in RI on Black Friday. 3 four packs of BW, 3 Bottles of BY, 1 four pack of Coffee, and a four pack of regular. All $20 straight up!.

Smutty Jim would have spent that check on well, what else, all Smutty beers!! ... It kills me how much Connecticut charged for all the Bourbon County stuff. My one friend in Rhode Island sold everything for $19.99, which meant the 3 that came in 4-packs along with the Backyard. Then I found the coffee gold mine in the strangest of places in that state.

My GI distributor is Dichello. They seem to have been charging the most out of all CT distributors. While there were stores on the shoreline selling for $18-$20 my cost was $18.50.

Manchester W&L still has barleywine singles along the cash registers.

Just thought I'd update, Kay's Wine and Spirits in East Hartford, still has a couple of barleywine and Regular Bourbon County left as well.

Sold in four packs or singles?

They were selling it single. But I asked for a four pack of barley wine and they said no problem...
They are just a nice group of people. I think its family owned, so its quite nice... Definitely worth the visit. Like I said earlier for the store size, their beer selection and service is excellent.

Any rye anywhere in Hartford area? I never even saw any, just trying to grab one bottle.

There's a place by whole foods in Glastonbury that had some earlier this week - not Sonoma, but the other place up the road. Sorry, don't have a name!

probably M&R. great place, that location in particular. could also be Super Liquors, where i used to buy ancient cantillon in the Gold Old Days.

p.s. if you like coffee, go to daybreak!

Is $29.99 high for rye? Only price I've seen for it and didn't pull the trigger

Paid 19.99 several times and 25.99 the first time I had a chance at one and couldn't resist. So yes, 29.99 is a bit obnoxious.

I passed on Backyard for $29.99 as well. Seemed ridiculous IMO.

$25ish seems to be the standard I've run across in Fairfield County and NY

For those that are interested, BevMax in Stamford has a bunch of the Barleywine in stock. It was a little expensive, but there were at least 6 packs of it.
