yea where is that that you saw it? can you e-mail me the deets at [email protected], attention 'Gerrit - Old Simcoe?' either an old label got snuck on there or someone's not doing their job... =p because old bottles like that shouldn't be floating around.

hey Gerrit, it was actually @MattLatuchie that found the old or mislabeled Simcoe. Matt can you hook PWs up with the info? Also just picked up a fresh (my beer guy said I missed Bobby by like 15 minutes) Blood of the Unicorn, is it required that I drink it from a PWs tulip inside of a candlelit pentagram? Cuz I was just planning on enjoying it with dinner tonight.

Yo Pipeworks, was actually in the city and stopped by WLVL thinking aww yeah, I can go pick up a Pipeworks tulip! Except they dont have any. How many unicorns do I have to slay to get ahold of one of these?

Deutsch Hopfen is fantastic! So much melon in the aroma and flavor. It's one of my favorite PW DIPAs to date! Well done, Pipeworks.

I knocked out a TNA and was a little underwhelmed. It wasn't bad at all but i didn't get the flavors/aromas as described. It's at the bottom of the pile compared to the rest of the Abduction series.

Hey Man, was great and I really enjoyed that yesterday. Late last week I knocked out smore money smore problems. that was pretty good, fun too. make me reminisce of the times my friends would rent cabins, drink, cook smores.

real quickly back to old batches of PWs; I found a small cache of late 2012 Last Kiss on the shelf, I think batch #52, one of the ones that's still waxed. That's one of the PWs I've never had (up until recently I've not been a fan of Scotch ale/Wee Heavys). I've been tempted to pick one up (or the whole cache) but wanted to get thoughts on drinkability. That style should be cellarable, but obviously a store shelf in flourescent lighting at room temp is no cellar. I appreciate any thoughts on this. Some of you probably know exactly where this is - pretty big PWs retailer.

I'd bite. part of the cellaring process is to see how it tastes (even in the not so best conditions), at least for me it is. Even better that it's waxed.

Someone brought a waxed Last Kiss to a tasting I was at a few months ago. I'm not sure what the batch number was, but I thought it was fantastic. However, I haven't had it fresh so I can't give you a comparison. From what I remember it was like fresh roasted pecans with hints of cinnamon and other spices.

Last Kiss is one of the best PW and flies under the radar for some reason. It was also one of the best BA versions.

That said I wouldn't hesitate to buy year+ old Last Kiss, I'm sure it's fine.

Speaking of barrel aged stuff...any chance us lowly non-FWBs will get a shot at those anytime soon?

buy one, drink it. if it's good, buy the rest.

it does say cellar worthy on the label (though, admittedly PW has stated in the past that sometimes they don't know what ends up on the label. see: nisperos batata "drink fresh"). I will wish i could say i've been able to cellar any pipeworks beer, but they usually end up in my belly within a few days of purchase (though i do have that cucumber saison in my basement).

I believe those were just bottles from the FwB allocation. Pretty sure there's more that will be available to the general public (it's somewhere in this thread). I thought they said Jan/Feb.

Several stores had them available to the general public already. They may have just been extras from the FwB but I'm not sure.
