Surly Coming back to Chicago?

yeah just re-read it and it looks like OVERRATED got auto-corrected to underrated oh well either way I have only seen one big shipment of Surly cans and all I ever see left on shelves is Hell and Cynic

There's definitely been more Furious and Overrated since the initial shipment.

 

hmmm... I have not been able to find any in the northwest burbs, and I frequent a few different places.

 

There's definitely fresher cans of coffee bender that I picked up dated 1/6/14. Not sure about the other brews tho.

 

I picked up a couple of 4-packs of Furious at Binny's in Niles shortly after their canning date of 1/10 I believe. They flew off the shelves pretty quickly though.

 

I can not find Coffee Bender anywhere. I live by the Orland Park Binny's.

^ I always forget about that search thing on Binnys site. When Surly first started coming to Illinois, I had no problem finding coffee bender but I never purchased any because I had a bunch from a recent trip to Minnesota, now I am kicking my self lol.

 

Wow I wish I checked this thread earlier. Oh well my dad just got back from visiting a friend in MN and brought me back everything I asked for. Might be even cheaper to buy it in Chicago sales tax in MN seems even higher somehow.

 

I saw a bunch of Coffee Bender at the Skokie location when I was getting Hell with the $2 off coupon.

 

There's new Furious around. Just saw canned on dates of 1/20.

 

I'm still finding furious but coffee bender has been really hard to find in the NW burbs

 

Binny's Highland Park got three cases of Coffee Bender today, dated 01/24/14. Drinking some now.

 

Abrasive has landed.

 

Not sure how much Abrasive is making it to Chicago, but this is the best reason to be excited about the arrival of Surly. I believe they just finished up their final Abrasive canning run, so this may be the only wave you get (but really I have no idea).

Anyway, buy it while you can and buy enough to keep in your fridge for awhile. This stuff is delicious even after a few months, and you'll want something to tide you over until next Fall/Winter when it hits the shelves again.

 

You can't say things like this to Chicago folk. Now my chances of getting any are shot..

 

Just out of curiosity, what was the canning date?

 

I haven't gotten my hands on any yet. I'm just going off of a tweet from a Binny's.
