Funny you picked this one--half of those mentioned aren't RIS

None of these are RISs because they aren't exported to Russia...if we're being nitpicky about stupid crap.

Its hard to only chose 5!
    In no particular order:

    1. Founders imperial Stout
    2. Stone IRS
    3. Ten Fiddy
    4. Great Divide Yeti
    5. Brew Dog Psycho Cocoa

I have a Dark Lord and Darkness I've yet to try (waiting for the right occasion) , my list may change after consuming them!

Tried a few stouts I really liked this past weekend at a beer festival, and a couple non-barrel aged imperial stouts - New Holland Night Tripper I remember in particular - that were very chocolately, varying flavors, but not so intense on the coffee flavors. Most of the imperial I have tried before have either been barrel aged (mostly bourban, and I don't like bourban), or coffee infused, and when I looked at the top imperial styles on the site, it seems like a ton of the more available ones are barrel aged and bourban.

Any recs on non-barrel aged imperials that are more on the chocolate side than coffee? Thanks alot.

PS, I've had Southern Tier Chokolat, Rogue Chocolate, and youngs double chocolate so no need to mention those. I was surprised how dark chocolate tasting the Night Tripper was, I am looking for more Imperials like that.

    Brooklyn Black Chocolate
    Boulevard Dark Truth
    North Coast Old Rasputin

These should fit the bill nicely.

Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout, Founder's IRS. Possibly Founder's FBS; has more chocolate than coffee IMO

Try Oskar Blues Ten FIDY. No chocolate in there, but for a non-coffee, non-chocolate, non-barrel-aged stout, it has plenty of chocolate character.

Here's some recent stuff I've encountered, albeit in NY not WI...

Great Divide's Espresso Oak Aged Yeti is around now... I'd recommend picking one up if you spot it.

This nice "breakfast beer" might make an appearance

    Imperial Doughnut Break ^

Founders yearly Imperial Stout is a must-buy.

If you have the dough, these wax sealed, barrel-aged bombers from Eclipse are still around - different wax colors identify what type of barrel aged the ale.
They're pricey though - like $23 - that's probably why some are still around  lol

I'm throwing one more out there - but it was from Christmas-time - but if you see it, its a real treat - Evil Twin's Bozo Beer

    Cheers - and good drinking!

Founders Breakfast Stout. I have dreams about that beer. Absolutely amazing.

    Some others I've had:

Verdi Imperial by Birrificio Del Ducato was really good (though I haven't been able to find it since having it the first time in NYC).
Kujo Imperial Coffee Stout was good
    Founders Imperial was decent
    Victory Storm king was decent
North Coast Old Rasputin was decent
Ommegang Take the Black was alright (though apparently not technically imperial anyway)
Clown Shoes Chocolate Sombrero was interesting
Widmer Raspberry Russian Imperial was interesting but not the greatest
