High expectations, but a very big disappointment?

Pliny the Elder. I got had a fresh one (2 weeks old) and it just didn't do it for me. yeah, it was good, but I was expecting something amazing for all the buzz it gets.

Thanks for the insight Tongo. I'll definately bare that in mind. Looks like the weather might permit having a few on the deck over the weekend. I'll give this one an honest open minded try. You may be right about it growing on me ... it's got 22 more chances!

You may or may not want to get it again by the end of the case, but at the very least I hope that looking at it in the proper context will help you to get some enjoyment out of those other 22. Cheers!

Weak? How so? I don't get this even a little bit. You might not like the hops on it when fresh, but it's far from weak at 9.1%.

    *shakes head*
Overrated, no. Overpriced, yes. I love Damnation, but damn it's expensive.

That's because their 375 ml c&c bottle cost so much per unit. They should just put everything in those 500ml, thinner bottles and it would probably cost 3.50$ for Damnation.

Weak effort? Now you're just being silly trying to back up an absurd statement. I'd hardly call a 93 rating "weak" in any sense. Say you don't like it, that's cool, but stop throwing around terms that are just not accurate. Cheers back at ya.

Me saying that Storm King is/was a weak effort would not be inaccurate, it would simply be my opinion. Just as your opinion is that Storm King is good/great...whatever it is to you. So I don't like your hometown beer...so what? There was a post earlier in this thread about Rochefort 10 being overrated. It's one of my favorite beers ever but I didn't feel the need to antagonize the poster...it's simply his opinion. Relax man, I was just sharing my opinion like everyone else on this thread.
