TigerTiger in San Diego is charging $8 for a .25l (~8.5oz) pour of Pugachev's Cobra. I don't have any other data points on hand, but $15 is absurd.

$8 for 8oz is a good deal (~$24 per bottle), $15 seems like the high end for bar pricing (~$45 per bottle)

Whole Foods In Beverly Hills has it on the shelf, and in the back. $18.99.

It's whole foods. I've never seen them limit anything other than Pliny. If you got the $20 bones, they'll take it with pleasure.

the same goes if you want to buy, say, an apple, or a granola bar. if you have 20 dollars, it's yours

I hate to come to the defense of WF, but while they're generally expensive for groceries, they have weekly weekend sales and occasional one day sales that offer some items at good prices. I've gotten deals like whole organic chicken for 99 cents/lb, grass fed beef chuck roast at 3.99/lb, and organic chard at 1.50 per bundle before. You can't even get stuff that cheap at Ralph's/Kroger.

If you live near one that has a beer/wine bar, they have good happy hour prices. Yesterday, I stopped by the Venice location after school and got a pour of SN DevaStatetion and a Philly cheesesteak for $5 each.

Like I said I'm not into coming to their defense, but it's kind of annoying to keep seeing the same misconceptions about their pricing all the time. What's next? Diacetyl causes infections?

In some cases diacetyl is caused by infections.

Sure, I can see that, but you also don't say a beer has a diacetyl infection.

Yeah, sorry, I can be a bit too serious at times. Organic green onions for $2.50? Damn right that's expensive. I generally avoid stuff that's not on sale.

I don't. The 13.7% was too much for me to drink on my lunch break. Got Modern Times saison instead.

It's still on tap at Smoqued for $7 or or maybe $8 tops for an 8 oz pour. It's still on tap, not sure how much is left. If you go in today they have happy hour beer prices from 3pm-10pm for $5 draft beers.

had this at Sunset Beer Company. i think they served it too cold. i should have let it sit out but anyway… pretty amazing beer. i'm not mr. detect a million distinct flavors guy, but i had an interesting experience with this. i was tasting something that i knew i knew what it was, but couldn't place. took me a day actually to figure it out, then it came to me: toasted cocoanut. when i was in hawaii i ate some of this and it was fucking incredible. some of the notes in the aftertaste were identical to this

    cool story?
