So it appears we were a bit over optimistic about how long it would last. We are not out yet, and are still saving some cases until Saturday, but there is a chance that we sell out the remaining cases today. There will still be cases going out for distribution next week.

Thanks for the continued updates - if you do run out today, could you throw a message up here or on FB? I was hoping to swing by later this evening, but likely won't be there till ~7:30. Would like to save myself the drive if it's all out.

We sold about half of what was available so far and it is pretty quiet now. We are expecting it to get busy again after work gets out, but are hopeful we can at least make it through the day. I will post an update to facebook around 6.

For those that were at the brewery when we opened, thank you for helping us keep everything in hand. Everyone was patient, which allowed us to keep everything moving quickly.

Wow! I'll be on the lookout for distribution. I couldn't make it up release day this year, but was able to get 6&6 at last year's release. Happy you guys set limits this year, but seems like even with the limits it is flying out the door. Congrats. Both great beers.

Turns out Jack had already stashed away the cases we are saving for Saturday, so there is more available for today than I had realized. So we should be all set to make it through the day.

We picked the time because we had hoped with the increased supply and bottle limits it would last through Saturday and spread things out. If there continue to be a lot of people that voice that they cannot make it during the week we will likely reserve a lot more for Saturday next year.

I think saving half for Saturday is the ideal solution. Release the beer during the week to get an uptick in customer traffic on the slowest days Wednesday and Thursday. Those who can make it during the week, will probably go then. Then half of the beer is sold on Saturday (I am guessing the brewery's busiest day) for people who cannot make it during the week.

I feel the problem with a big Saturday release is that you'll run into the huge crowd problems some other brewers have (i.e., Tree House), potentially making it an unpleasant experience for everyone who ends up waiting 3 hours.

can you guys give any sense as how much is going out to distro vs being sold at the brewery? 50/50? 90% at the brewery?

I walked in at 1215. Waited about 15 minutes, got my bottles, got a flight of tasters, drank them, and was out by 1. Not shitshow-like at all.

Will Coffee or Vanilla see any distro to the Cape, or will only a few stores be getting it? I made the trip up this morning, and you guys did a great job.

Yeah they did a good job at keeping the line going. No stress at all, for us at least.

We are sending the majority out for distro. The thing is that so many stores want some that each of them are going to get a very small amount.

Selling half of an allotment in 3 hours that you assumed would last until Saturday doesn't sound un-shitshow like at all either.

Is it Saturday specifically that you are saving these for, or 'the weekend', ie Friday?!?!!

I try to not call people out, but you need to relax. You already said you were glad you weren't buying any so I don't know why you are throwing your two cents in to how Jack's Abby is handling it.

The idea was to save specifically for Saturday. At the end of the day we will see what is left and if there is enough to make it worthwhile we will release a certain amount of cases Thu/Fri/Sat. If there are not enough we will only save for Sat.
