You're crazy. That BA Barleywine was damn good.

I think the Mission Dark Seas is pretty darn good. Very enjoyable to drink. The price is probably too high, but it was very easy to get, so I'm OK with that. I spend way more of my time (which is very valuable), tracking down some of the other more popular barrel aged beers.

As it relates to Coronado's Stupid Stout, I look forward to trying this and hope it is as good (to me) as the Dark Seas was and is as easy to get.

It was good enough for a barleywine, but was not a good representation for a BA barleywine. Just my opinion. And to make sure I"m not crazy, I'm gonna crack one of my last bottles this weekend. I'll report back Monday to let you know how correct I am. ; )

I had one of these yesterday. I liked it a lot! Good thick body, nice bourbon notes. The usual cocoa.

Is it as good as Parabola? No. But it was sure a lot easier to get than Parabola. I'll be picking up some more.

For the $18 ticket, its going to be taking up some time in the fridge to make me feel like I got something out of it if disappoints.

Damn right it was good. That BA Dark Seas was in Four Roses barrels for 20 months IIRC - that's a long time. They're not tasting that beer and saying, "hmmm...yeah this is totally worth $20!" That price is a reflection of a HUGE time and space commitment to a single release. I'm pumped I got some and look forward to Mission putting a little more time into stuff like that.
