I store most of my beers at 70 degrees or thereabouts. It works well for most beers for up to 1-2 years. The only ones you need to worry about are the IPAs and BAs - those don't do well even within the fridge. BA stouts etc...are good for a year atmost..

I do not, since my collection is rather limited, and I have a pretty good idea when I picked them up. But it might be a good idea to do so, if your collection is rather extensive, and if you've gathered them from a variety of sources.

So I just started collecting about 6-9 months ago even though I've been tasting and drinking craft beer for about 5-8 years. Had to go with the industrial shelf. apparently it holds 800 lbs per shelf. What do you guysthink?

A few of my modest cellar. Finally got the closet cleaned out the the shelf installed this weekend. Mostly stouts at this point. I am working through the FIS and FBS as my 'everyday' drinkers.

I need to start trading soon.

Doesn't bcbs say up to 5 years on the bottle? I've had many BA stouts that were incredible after 3 years.

I suppose they would keep for that long, but it is subjective whether they will be better. My 2012 parabolas were probably best around last May or thereabouts, but since then they're not quite as remarkable. The 2012 BCBS has now developed a slight fruitiness which I think adds a new dimension to an already stellar brew. I will drink some now and save a bottle or two just to see how they do in time.

My cellar is broken up into two parts, this is a photo of the bulk of it.

The door and bottom shelf are for general/friend/family consumption (except the lone can of Bud Light... I'm aging that). The other 3 shelves (and the wire basket of CCB Leon's Grandson cans) are available for drinking only after express, written permission from me.

This is the remainder of the cellar... that I keep separate.

hahaha. i couldn't find a kbs one time and almost had a panic attack that my sister or her bf who were in for the weekend drank it. Thankfully I found it before tearing into them…

I took a small screw, screwed through the cap into the rafter, then just twisted the growler on to the cap. Pretty easy actually. I obviously had to buy some back up caps after.

I figured that was the easiest way. How big is that bottle of Supplication and how in the world do you get something like that?!

Seeing that cellar almost makes want to move into a cold climate where they actually have cellars.. I have a beer fridge in a garage that stays 80 degrees all fuckin year.

Actually, screw that.. Michigan is about -30 right now.
