I'll be there, probably around 5:15 to hopefully get the good stuff while it's going! (Thursday)

Based on past years, I would expect everything to last for at least a few hours.

If the day ever comes that they put Blunderbuss in a bottle...that would be one great day. I can only dream...

They did a special bottling a few years ago and gave them out as party favors for a NYE party they threw.

I'll be there at 5, right on the button. That Arquebus with Brett and red wine barrel sound unreal, not to mention the Bad Knees glazed pork belly.

they've served the arquebus with brett before, and spoiler alert: it was a standout favorite. that said, i bet i would like 2013 arquebus better than all the aged versions. so perfect this year.

also, port barrel blunderbuss = :grinning:

unfortunately, i have to miss it this year. for my final comment in this thread, CBC is my favorite brewery.

They don't have the 2009 Arquebus with Brett. Bummer!

Love seeing Phil Bannatyne helping out like he just got hired. Insight into why a place like this can thrive for so long.

I thought the '06 Blunderbuss was the best I tried with the '07 dry-hopped version closed second. Both very smooth and mellow. The port-barrel Blunderbuss was too aggressive for me.

Completely agree on the 09 port barrel but absolutely loved the 11 port + sherry finish.

I never really pegged myself as a barleywine fan, but that beer converted me. It's got to be in my top 5 >10%abv beers.

Didn't get to try 09 Port finish, but 11 Tawny+Oloroso was my favorite of the ones I tried. 07 dryhopped had a surprisingly noticeable hop presence. I expected hops to fade away completely, or almost.

I was also pleasantly surprised by the prices. That half poor was a really good size poor for such a heavy drink and only $3.

Overall, applauds to CBC staff and brewers! Thanks!

You mean last year  When I first tried it - last summer? - Pedro Ximenez Sherry was first thing that came to mind as a comparison.

hah, yes. i perceive time slowly.

the whole idea of a "summer barleywine" never really made sense to me... but finally the 2013 was the perfect honey / aged barleywine / oak iteration of "summer barleywine." deep yet refreshing and seasonal. one of those rare "mind-and-palate expanding" beers. lotta quotes in this post.
