New Driftwood sour rumoured to be landing this week.

    This isn't a confirmation, just a reminder...

Man they sure come fast with the new sours. Well, there goes getting under 100 bottles before buying more.

Next batch of Cantillon hits shelves in February apparently. Wouldn't say exactly when though.

Bird of Prey confirmed as the upcoming batch of Driftwood sour. Something to tide us over till Singularity.

As in, the same recipe as the original?

Looks like it! The barrel-aging may be different though, I can't remember the details of the original batch.

Sure is! My phone vibrated to tell me that everyone I know on Twitter just re-tweeted Driftwood's tweet.

I'm really looking forward to the Birds of Prey. Hopefully it's not as bad as Lustrum.

Of course it lands at Brewery Creek half an hour after I drove past...

Anyone try the Bird of Prey yet? Is it as awesome as the original release?

It's close to the original from what I remember. There's a bit of something on the very back end that I don't like, wish I could name the off-flavour but best description I can think of would be fungal, mushroom-like. It's really low level compared to other sours (mostly homebrew) I've found it in though and I don't think it's something most people detect. I think it'll clean itself up over time, and I'm definitely aging the rest of my bottles to let them get more sour.

Unless they had more of them in the back, a friend and I grabbed the last six bottles of Bird of Prey from Brewery Creek. Sorry bros :slight_frown:

Yeah it'll be around for weeks I'm sure, just increasingly inconvenient for Vancouverites.

I want to get down to Four Winds and try this sour of theirs currently pouring. Sounds tasty!

I found Lustrum to taste moldy. Same thing?

The new Four Winds sour was great, sad they didn't let me get a growler, but it was a small batch. They said they will probably be bottling it soon-ish? Lots of nice stuff in barrels. Lots of 'Dark Sour', a new Brett IPA coming as well, and some crazy amazing smelling berries in one of the other barrels (we had a little tour). I really liked the multigrain lager they had on tap too.

I'm not sure as I don't really get 'mold' but they both have a similar dull-sourness on the back end that's a bit vegetal. So I wouldn't get too excited. I found it good but not great

Sounds like one to forget about for at least a year or two. Time did wonders for Mad Bruin, hopefully this will be the same.
