The announced that the variants would come out 2 weeks after regular BA. The regular is still available with no limits.

I was just saying they gave the date and structure 3 days or do in advance. Not really enough time for a lot of people to take time off. If you don't think this could ever become an "event" or whatever, that's fine. I'm not so sure.

FYI, the release date for the variants was written on the board inside JA on the 18th when I was there and I believe I remember seeing the release date on their website even earlier. There was plenty of notice and the word was out. It's just that for whatever reason, JA doesn't have to deal with the obnoxious showing up at 8am crowds like HF. They just make great beer, set a date and put it out. No hype train attached. I love it. Went yesterday and it was the most relaxing atmosphere I could have imagined. The new tasting room setup is brilliant and having the separate line for bottles was excellent. Great job by JA for knowing how to run a smooth operation. Cheers.

Good. I'm glad it was smooth this year. With an ever expanding customer base, and a known release schedule (possibly) we might be looking at something different next year.

People seem to be getting touchy at the thought that this could happen. It's not out of the realm of possibility. I saw the Julios event last year. It's not far off.

Its not like the beer was only sold at noon. People could get there after work if they wanted. There was ample notice. Beer is available today, Friday and Saturday. Seems like there are plenty of options. The beer is also hitting distribution.

You keep thinking I'm talking about how this year went. I'm not. The brewery release went well, we'll see how the distro goes. In the future (not this year, but years to come) it could be a different story.

I say we move the convo back towards the current release happening now. Speaking of which, anyone there at noon today and what was the scene?

this is what Jack's Abby said on January 15th (in this very thread!)

"We are currently aiming for Wednesday the 29th for coffee and vanilla."

They did not announce this date secretly 3 days ago, it has been largely known for 2 full weeks. 100% of the people who cared to know, knew.

I think next year more people will come on a Wednesday to get the six bottle limit vs coming the following days for 2 bottle limit if they keep everything the same.

It was pretty dead today, I think everyone that wanted it that was not tied down by work already was here yesterday. This means we will have a couple extra cases for Saturday.

As to future releases, it is far to early to start predicting what will happen, there are still a couple surprises for this year's. You can also count on us doing everything in our power to keep things under control.

I unfortunately missed Wednesday's release due to business travel. I walked into JA today at 12:45 and only one other person was in there.

Yeah they sent it out to more accounts. It started just at the brewery and at Gordons. Personally I think it's priced near perfectly. It's stuck around longer with that price tag. I also believe it is worth it.

No, stay tuned next week. Has nothing to do with the Coffee and Vanilla variants.
