A guy in Long Beach is coming to Atlanta and offered to do an IP trade with me.

What should he get me? Not interested in IPAs atm. I like sours, stouts, barleywines, porters, browns, blondes, BBA stuff.

I know what seekabrew is but what should I ask him to get? He'll be here in 2-3 weeks.

An ounce of Da Chronic! LBC Cuzzo!

LB is not too far from Placentia, ask him to get you some beers from The Bruery.

If he also knows his way around Southern Cali he should know about places that sell Russian River beers.

Firestone Walker can also be found easily in Southern California so look at their beers and see what you like, currently they have Sucaba in distribution, a good barleywine.

Yeah I told him the Bruery, Russian River, and Firestone Walker. Just didn't know if I'm missing anything since I never get a chance to get their distro.

Maybe Beachwood Tovarish is still around, today Vendome Pasadena posted that they received some.

Not sure if you have Fifty/Fifty BART in your area, Stearns on Long Beach had some a few days ago.

Also BA Stupid Stout from Coronado have been hitting a few stores, maybe some in his area.

No IPAs? Too bad. Get Bechwood Melrose and Noble Nelson Showers.

I'm going to cast a wide net, so take it for what it's worth...

There have been a TON of socal breweries KILLING it right now. Whether you like IPAs or not, these guys can do it all and right now their doing it all well:

    - Beachwood BBQ (any-damn-thing from these guys)
    - Modern Times
    - Noble Ale Works (you gotta try THESE IPAs)
    - Pizza Port (anything but Chronic)
    - El Segundo Brewing Co. (IPAs and stouts)

As far as I'm concerned, you can't go wrong with anything from these guys.

    Cheers!

Thanks man. Do any of them bottle?

He offered to bring growlers but I don't really drink growlers much - too overpriced and too much beer at once.

Don't have him bring you an ipa if you don't like ipa's. That would be like a wasted trade. If you prefer the other styles, have him bring you something from the Bruery. I don't care for the Bruery beers as I am a hophead. But I don't think you can go wrong with the Bruery. Valiant in Anaheim does some BIG beers. Noble is killing it these days with IPA's. So stay away from Noble beers. Now their Naughty Sauce is one of a kind but they don't bottle it or do growler fills. So your out of luck there. Maybe something from Monkish Brewery in Torrance. They do some weird style beers. Beachwood BBQ & Brewing had Tovarish but thats long gone. Good luck.

Monkish might actually be a good choice. Anomaly may still be available

If you haven't had Pugachev's Cobra @GameFreac have him add that to the list. A local friend of mine scooped some for me just a week or so ago, so it's still floating around.

Instagram, many stores post what new beers have come in.

Stearns Liquor in Long Beach posted 1 bottle limit for Tovarish.

Saw a few bottles of Tovarish at Whole Foods LB earlier today...

Also, if you dont get Logsdon beers out there, and are into Brett, their Seizoen Bretta is incredible. Logsdon is very easy to find in Long Beach. For other Saisons, Stearns stocks both Crooked Stave and Prairie which produce a lot of great stuff. Oh and if he feels like driving to the Bruery, everyone should have Melange #1 at least once.....
