Cigar City Brewing Hunahpu's Day: March 8, 2014

I'll be happy with one bottle.

 

I don't know if it's cool to post this here but I was less sure if it was cool to start a new thread - there's a Cigar City event at World of Beer in Clermont this Friday night (31st) starting at 6:00.

(If I was just a regular old person I'd post this with no reservation, but I feel like I need to add the disclaimer that I work at this WOB - in theory, if not in practice lately - but I'm not trying to drive up sales. Hell, I'm not even working for the event - I requested the night off so I could go up there and drink. Just you know, calling all CCB lovers. There's 15 beers. Like blueberry white oak jai alai. And blueberry muffin maduro. And a chocolate peanut butter brown ale on cask.)

 

Is that the same blueberry muffin I had at huna day last year? That was a standout for me.

 

It's gotta be. That beer is outstanding. I was hoping we'd see more of it again. If only they made more Snack Attack too...

 

As far as if it's the same batch, I don't know if they did it again or held on to some. I noticed it's on at the tasting room too. (I'm pretty amped about our chocolate peanut butter brown ale cask and hoping it's reminiscent of Snack Attack cuz DAMN that was a good one.)

 

Oh yeah, that blueberry muffin from last year - out of all that was there last year, to me that one was the most enjoyable pour I had all day.

 

I've been dreaming of a chance to taste snack attack since I heard of it. I hope they bring it back.

 

blueberry muffin is basically oatmeal raisin cookie but with blueberries instead of raisins

 

and its currently on tap now at the tasting room, along with cask humidor peach IPA

I second that! Snack attack is my absolute favorite beer. I was so glad to see it at last year's Hunahpu's Day

 

I'm okay with this. Oatmeal Raisin Cookie is also absolutely absurd, and on tap at Oblivion in Orlando on Saturday. Hooray!

 

I had Snack Attack when it was first released at CCB and it was a great beer! But one 12oz snifter was more than enough for me. But more than worth having just became too much of a good thing for me like trying to eat a whole cheesecake.

 

So you're saying one should NOT eat a whole cheesecake? Because error.

 

I hate when people bring up Snack Attack, it hurts my soul. I LOVED that beer. Like, Patrick Swayze/ Demi Moore in Ghost loved it. Like Patrick Swayze and round house kicks in Roadhouse loved it. But alas, and correct me if i'm wrong, but i'm told that it has all been expended, at least from CCB's coffers.

 

Looks like this calls for a change.org petition...

 

It was a Funky Buddha / CCB collaboration, right? Because if I remember correctly, that was it and definitely explains why it was so ungodly good. "Hey, you know what we both do really well? Make beer that is also food. Wanna make a food beer together?" *cue 80s music brewing montage*

 

It was CCB, FB and Blue Jacket collab. From what I have heard Blue Jacket may have some left.

There are a few coolabs I wish CCB would make again. Snack Attack, Moat Water*, Church on a Hill, Life is Like

* I know more of a one off than a collab. But stil its amazing.
