It wouldn't surprise me if it went on this weekend.

I will not be at DeCicco's, as I am going to Saratoga for their chowderfest, which is more-or-less a pub crawl starting at 9:30am.

Funny thing is though, Saratoga is really turning into a craft beer town. There are 4 craft beer bars, and a bunch of other bars that serve decent beer. Kinda awesome.

Also, at 1 of the bars, they have a mug club that is $60 or $75 to join (I don't remember). They serve all their beers in pints, even Bourbon County, other rare/high abv beers), and the highest price is always $15/pint (regular good craft beers are like $5/$6/pint). Not a bad price for a pint of BCBS IMO. Well, in the mug club, you get 23oz's for the pint price! BINGO! Also, the mug club never expires.

 

Would def meet you there next time we're around.

And no, I have a DMB/Phish buddy who lives a few towns over and brought me up 2 bottles from a release last June/July.

 

that is one amazing mug club!!!!! i may go tonight for a few.

 

Sexual Chocolate release is tomorrow. Going to a buddies house for Super Bowl and he is going to the release....so we'll probably be busting a few of those bottles open for Super Bowl......plus some bottles that I am taking over there.

 

Bring lots of Cave Creek.

 

The mug club is insane! They usually have 2 or 3 rare-ish beers on, and a bunch of just awesome beers, ie NEBCO Galaxy etc. Wouldn't be surprised if Fuzzy Baby Ducks was on tonight

 

I picked up a growler of this:
(512) FIVE is the culmination of our experience thus far and features a lineup of some of our favorite ingredients. Organic American two-row and English Maris Otter malts lay the foundation, while a generous dose of English roasted barley, black malt and chocolate malt create layers of roasty, dark complexity. American and Belgian crystal malts give balance and depth to the roasted character. Multiple additions of UK Fuggle hops impart an earthy, spicy finish to this deep, dark Imperial Stout.

10.4% abv

 

damn man. thats awesome. never been up that way but sounds pretty decent

 

The 8 glass set I grabbed at Goodwill is similar to this style, although the bowl tapers a bit sharper, similar to a teku.

Like I said, you have to drop $60 or $80 up front, but it's easy to make that back on the high ABV/rare beers. I go up there 6ish times a year, so I can make that back within the year, in theory.

 

plus its never ending? most places make you pay again ever year.

 

They said never ending when I bought it. I hope they don't change that aspect, but assume they will eventually.
