You'll know me at Hunahpu's Day by my recreation of that infamous scene as I sample my first pour of the 2014.

Moat Water....oh yes, that would be awesome. I wish I had saved one.
If there truly is a god, then one day Cafe Americana we be bottled and distributed.

If you saved a Moat Water you'd be disappointed. The bottles have fallen off quite a bit from what once was an amazing stout.

I did save some, opened one on Xmas and it was still amazing.

I'm right there with you on that opinion. Definitely not what it once was, but honestly I was in it for the coffee. It's still a solid chocolate stout but a lot of the specific breakfast flavors are gone.

if anyone decides that they don't want their Moat Water anymore, I'll gladly take them and help you by drain pouring them... into my face

Its a beer that has eluded me.

That sucks, but you can always take comfort in the fact that Breakfast Brewer's Stout was a Moat Water Jr. of sorts.

Rapp is really good stuff. Definitely worth a side trip for those visiting from out of town. Happy to see them represented.

Oooh they added Ghost of Hunahpu. That's gonna be fun to just stand there and watch people drink it. Not gonna be fun in the port o potties.

No, I'm saying I drank about a case of it the first 6 months and it was pretty much my favorite stout. I had another case that I slowly drank over the next 6 months or so that I found dropped off (mostly the coffee aspect but everything kind of) slowly over that time. It's not an indictment on the beer, it's to be expected IMO. Much like KBS coffee fades after the first year, it's still better than most but also a shell of what it once was.

The last Moat Water I had was back in August, I think, and it was by far the most disappointing. The person I drank it with had never had it, but knew how much I loved it and how much I talked about it for so long, and was like what's the big deal? I have one left, and for nostalgic reasons I'm
hoarding it...but by no means do I think it's going to be any different of an experience when I do drink it. I am sure it will still be better than most stouts around here, but that doesn't mean it will be as great as it once was.

Pretty much spot on with what I've tasted over time. I think the last time I REALLY tasted it the way it was supposed to be was last March on tap at the tasting room. Some I talked to even then felt
It was starting to lose its luster, maybe I still had blinders on. Soon thereafter I did start tasting a difference, though.

Just reviewed the updated tap list for this event. At the risk of having my MN BA membership card revoked, I have to say. HOLY CRAP thats an awesome tap list and nothing like this exists up here in MN!!! Wow, and so excited to be attending 2014 Huna day!

I would agree most beers are better fresh, BUT one CCB offering I need at least 4-6 months on is Zhukov's. I find I like that one most in the 12-18 month range, with a slight decline after that point.
