Why Did Samuel Adams Stop Brewing This (IMHO) Tasty And Refreshing Beer? Ive only been in the beer enthusiasts hobby for a little over 2 years. this was one of the beers that inspired me to try new craft beers and expand my palate. sad to see it go. maybe Boston Beer Co. will just release it a few years later under a different name?? i.e Cold Snap/White Ale & Escape Route/Spring Ale. Whats Your Take On it???

My take is I bought the summer variety pack last summer and it was the most disgusting group of beers I have ever had.

My opinion is that they have been routinely removing the beers I thought were well done and replacing them with beers I have no desire to try. They advertise as if they don't change but do, constantly. For my hard earned dollars there is better beer to be had. They are slowly losing me, and I'm sure others, as a customer.

Alpine Spring, not a summer beer, but I do agree last years summer pack was bad.

Op most likely the sales were low, I thought it was ok and a good change of pace as its flavor was distinctive. But BBC has messed up obsession with mediocere witbiers/white ales. They can't make a good one so they just keep trying.

Them and other breweries make these changes due to less than stellar sales. Thats why Sierra got rid of Glissade and most recently Tumbler.

I get that. But if you replace it with something ho hum then who cares? Sierra got flack for replacing tumbler with an IPA, but hey that sells and I get it.

@ HopBomb515 I agree. but i also think samuel adams makes a good effort at introducing different styles to new beer hobbyist at an affordable price. but they have been slacking latley. some of theyre latest offering are sub-par for the course to say the least.

I think some breweries are willing to take a chance and see if the replacement will be the next hit, and I don't believe they think it is ho hum, but I agree with you that its not a trade up by any means. Unfortunately I don't think Sam is willing to push the limits of flavor to really create a hit anymore, and at times I feel like they are just grasping at straws. They should have just stuck with Noble Pils.
