I bought at 4:30. I think it went up around 3. At first I held off because I wasn't sure what the deal was. Once I heard that it was HS only I made my purchase.

Very odd. I wouldn't be surprised if you guys get an email saying there was an error. Melange 9 has a release party slated for 3/16. I don't think they will be available for anyone until March. If I had to guess someone meant to update Melange 1 or 3 or just testing the image for 9. If they honor it, cheers to you guys for randomly checking the store at the right time.

'On March 16th we'll be holding a Hoarders Society release event for Mélange #9 - the beer that was created by our very own 2013 Hoarders during a blending competition.'

That's pretty much what I was expecting when I made my purchase. I mean, the worst that could happen is that they don't honor my purchase for a beer that wasn't supposed to be available anyways. So no big deal. If it does go through though, I'll be quite happy.

Have to imagine those transactions will be voided.

That's certainly my expectation, but it was worth a shot.

I'd be shocked if they voided them, the bruery always exceeds expectations when things like this Happen, their customer service is amazing.

When black Tuesday went on sale, i bought my 3, my wife also bought me 3 on my account, it was my mistake, i expected them to cancel one order, they filled the whole thing, definitely not what I eexpected .

I dunno, selling a Hoarders exclusive to someone not in Hoarders is a bit different than selling too many of a huge public release to someone. Kind of undermines what they're trying to do with Hoarders.

it's actually back in the store right now, along with Bois Fume, Smooth Criminal, and Tumescence.

and Tumescence is listed at $0.00, so clearly they're having a few problems.

I have all three up as well but with prices. It technically says the allocation period starts 2/1 so seems to me we can start buying today. Max 3 of each for RS and 6 for H.

I'm glad the allocations are on the affordable side, I wasn't sure with the anniversary blends and all.

    Bois Fumé | $19.99

    Qty
This rustic beer is the result of barrel aging a blend of our Anniversary, English-style old ale, with Smoking Wood, an imperial smoked rye porter. Bois Fumé, meaning 'Smoking Wood' in French, is pleasantly sweet with a dry, peaty finish.
    RS: 3 bottle limit

    HS: 6 bottle limit

    mooth Criminal | $19.99

    Qty
Ever accidentally blend two brews, curse a bit, and then smile when tasting the excellent result? Us too. Smooth Criminal is the splendid result of moving a bit too quickly in the brewhouse. An accidental addition of Saison De Lente to a fermenter full of our Anniversary ale led us to ask, "Anni, are you okay?" She was. Smooth Criminal showcases rich malt, flavorful hops and oaky goodness in a harmoniously unique ale.

    RS: 3 bottle limit
    HS: 6 bottle limit

    Tumescence | $13.99

    Qty
We brewed this Saison-style ale with our friends at the newly opened brewery, Bottle Logic, located just down the street from our sour barrel warehouse. Being just as interested in style bending beers as we are, this not-so-logical beer was born. The base beer is a Belgian-style farmhouse Saison, fermented with brettanomyces, but that's just where the fun begins. Our teams selected an unusual set of herbs to brew the beer with and then added as much raspberry and mango puree as we could fit into our fermenters. The result is a tropical Saison that is perfectly refreshing during this unusually warm California winter.

    RS: 3 bottle limit
    HS: 6 bottle limit
    Allocation period 2/1/14 - 2/21/14
Purchased bottles are expected to be ready for pickup on 2/10/2014.

Wow Melange 9 is up at $30 a bottle. Comes down to 24 for HS, but I did not expect that high a tag on a blend mostly of $20 brews (not sure where WOS lands but probably in the 25-30 range). I think I will need to battle test that one before dropping BlackTuesday $ on it.

I also expected to see it at a lower price range, like M1 at $25 at the very least.

SITR w/ Kumquats was still $20 so why is this $30? I will still buy 1 but this is kinda bs.

Based on the ABV and description, it looks like WOS is 17% of the blend. Perhaps they used a ton of coconut and it's expensive, but I definitely didn't expect this to be a $30 beer. Granted, they've admitted in the past that they don't price strictly based on their costs (they'll price something for what they believe they can get), but the $30 tier seems like a mistake - at least in terms of perception, I can't speak to raw cost - for an 8% ABV sour blend whose components are mostly $20 beers.

I appreciate that it's a special blend for the Hoarders Society and there may be hidden costs in the adjuncts and the labor cost of blending a special batch, but pricing it the same as BT/Anniversary is going to give a lot of people pause when ordering.
