    Here's the lineup: Blind taster...

    Lagunitas Sucks
    Surly Abrasive
    Bells Hopslam
    Victory Dirtwolf
    Victory Hop Ranch

I have not had the Victory beers yet.

    Here is my prediction:

    1. Abrasive
    2. Sucks
    3. Hopslam
    4. Dirtwolf
    5. Hop Ranch

i'm confindent in the top two but have not had the Victory offerings so maybe one of those slips in....Hopslam is not impressing me as much as previous years but still solid...

I would've guessed that original and banquet beer would've been the top two.

I bet Dirtwolf suprises you. Even with the blind tasting you'll be able to pick out Hopslam by the rubbing alcohol finish. I wouldn't include Abrasive as you'll know it immediately as it doesn't look like any of the others.

I was going to say the same about abrasive, but I am curious what you come up with.
I've never done a blind taster, how do you set it up?

I agree, Dirt Wolf will surprise you. Hopslam would be at the bottom of my group I suspect.

Does victory still make hop wallop? I always liked that one much more than hopslam

No they replaced it with Dirtwolf (which is rarely around) as there new year rounder... When Hop Wallop was there year rounder I could actually you know BUY IT FROM THE STORE. Sorry I loved Hop Wallop, and frankly I think Dirtwolf tastes very similar, but I can never get it so it makes me sad.

I'd probably replace Abrasive with Myrcenary if you can find stuff dated recently. They all have that clear yellow color whereas Abrasive has that cloudy orange to it.

What about Hopthermia, Size 11 or Double Bubble? Don't know how many you are drinking with.

Wife pours all five into five glasses and makes a key with what is what. I discern and then rate them 1-to-5...I then look at the key and see what was what.

A couple of you have mentioned the difference in color with Abrasive. I guess I didn't look close enough to know that but now I do. I might have to do this with my eyes closed and my wife handing me the beers. Unfortunately I do not have immediate access to Myrcenary or any ODell in my neck of the woods.

Yeah all good options...I don't have immediate access to any of those...Plus I am doing this on my own so five DIPA's throughout the day should be plenty. Luckily there is a game or something going on I can watch after the taster while I finish them off.

So it would be difficult to do if my wife and I both wanted to do the blind tasting. Hmmm...

Victory recently expanded their brewhouse, the process of which limited shipments of everything everywhere. In the coming weeks things should start showing up in regular quantities.
