100% agreed. I assume the extra ingredients and extra manpower required to put this together would push the cost up from a $20 point but still surprised this would warrant a $10 increase. Might be just testing the waters to see how much HS will blindly pay. I really liked M8 when I had the chance to try it in the Tasting room, what was the cost of that bottle?

Aside from all that, it still seems odd that this one is for sale right now. They already stated that there will be a March 16th release event scheduled for the HS. Why would they do that and then release the beer a month early? Maybe the party was actually for Feb 16 (both are Sundays)

I'm really surprised it is part of the Feb allocation seeing that the release party for M9 is 3/16. Hopefully we can taste it at the tasting room before the allocation ends.

The hidden costs of adjuncts and labor are probably the cost from the blending party. =O

Agree it's a bit pricey, but I had a sneak peak and it's phenomenal - one of the most drinkable Bruery sours IMO. The coconut is very prominent (the ginger, not so much) and adds a very unique dimension to the sour base.

I am so jealous of you all. I wish they shipped outside of CA.

That is good to hear. Anyone know how cocoanut holds up with age? I know the Bruery recommends fruited beers/sours to be enjoyed fresh but dunno where (toasted?) cocoanut lands on that. I probably won't be maxing this one but might get close if I decide to stash a couple for a later date.

The brewers responsible for Proprietor's recommended drinking it fresh as the coconut can fade pretty quickly.

Does the "Melange" tag carry a premium over their other beers (as does the BT series and variants) irregardless of composition?

Anyone here somehow try Smooth Criminal yet? It sounds terrible, but for some reason I'm really intrigued. Also, I really don't get the label at all:

How do you mix an old ale and a saison and get an english barley wine? I could care less what they label it as, as long as it tastes good, but it baffles me that they labeled it as that.

    Oh well, hope it's good.

You think that's baffling? Wait until next month when they release "WTF?!" - a Triple IPA made from accidentally blending an imperial stout, dopplebock, old wine coolers, and "imported" inland empire tap water.

And how is Bois Fume 16.2% when Smoking wood is 13% and Bois is 15%?[IMG]

The ABVs from this month don't make any sense.

They are holding a release party in March for it and haven't sent out any emails about the sale yet. It was probably out up by accident, and I'm sure all the sales that went through will be reversed.

Not thrilled with this month's selections, aside from tumescence. I also don't love how much blending we're seeing off pre existing beers. True or not, it feels like they're trying to unload brews they over produced. Hoping this doesn't continue. Either way, there will be an open slot in hoarders next year.

Nope, but they posted it on Facebook. The Windows98 laptop that runs the email server must be down on weekends
