hey all, new here...Founders fan, but Ill definitely be passing on this. Ive never had a smoked beer that I liked, and knowing Founders this will probably be over the top smokey. 2 cents.

So being a Michigan boy and an absolute Founders fan I must say I'm totally confused... While I no longer live in the area I still drive the 800+ miles to their releases because I love them. That being said have thye already released this without announcing it? Because it sure seems that way, which is very unfortunate...

 

Why is it unfortunate? It's a 4 bottle limit and they have a shitload of it available. Pretty sure they'll have it there for awhile. Plus they announced awhile ago it would be released in February.

 

Just unfortunate I missed it... I use Founder's releases as an excuse to go visit the family lol.

 

Missed it how exactly, they have a metric shit ton in their coolers and it hasn't even hit retailers yet. And it's been on tap for a week, and I'm sure it'll be on tap for a while.

 

The real question is, how is it?

 

The taste was not a smoke bomb like others of the style. I thought it could have used a bit more smoke to be honest. Over all still a good beer.

Oh and before anyone asks; they did not make a special glass for this release.

 

That's what I was getting at. You have weeks to plan a vaca out to GR for this.

 

I love that beer and wish I had picked up more. I only have one bottle left.

Not even really smokey? Lame. How do you go from brewing a crazy spicy, unbalanced beer overloaded with too much flavor...to this beer that is completely traditional.

Plenty of Mango Magnific still here to go around as well. I don't think its going anywhere anytime soon.

 

Aside from asking this in the ISO:FT forum thought I'd look here first. Would a MI BA be willing to pick up and ship me and my friends a few bottles of this? I'm willing to PayPal the money for bottles+shipping (beforehand obviously) and would send a GA local box as well in appreciation. Have had a few people consider helping me out on this but nothing solid yet.

Not really looking to barter in the trade forums unless your interested in what the south GA market has to offer. Have done legitimate PayPal transactions like this before if you want any specific references.
