HopSlam is coming

I Was told by an employee yesterday that TW Ballantyne will receive Hopslam tomorrow (Tuesday).

 

Any word on when this is hitting the Orlando area?

 

For Tampa, which I assume is similar to Orlando, I was told at Luekens not until mid to late February. ABC told me mid February, and Total Wine had no idea. Luckily beer mail just came for me with some Hopslam, so that will hold me off until later this month.

 

Currently at the N.C. Hopslam release party at Player's Retreat in Raleigh. Anyone else here?

This is my first Hopslam and it is delicious. That said, it wouldn't be my number one. I'd put Hop Drop and Roll, Sculpin, Hop Notch, and others in front of it.

Am I crazy?

I've decided not to chase Hopslam this year. Last year I got lucky finding a bottle - great beer - but now that I've tried it, I don't need to hunt it down. If I see it, I'll get a couple. I chased BCBS a bit and got a 4 pack. Then got lucky on a single Coffee BCBS. I will probably chase KBS, but then I'll be good for awhile. Plenty of other good beer at better prices and I'm more of a session drinker than a high ABV guy. Give me the single IPAs over the doubles.

 

How crowded was it? Thought about going but decided to stay in with the family...

 

Got my 6 pack from Bestway.

 

Was about 2 deep past bar stools so not bad.

I had a beer about 4 minutes after walking in.

My dumbass didn't realize Hopslam is 10% abv, so my ranking of it just shot up.

 

There is an untouched case at the Southern Pines Harris Teeter. They're selling six packs for 16.99. Alas, I could not pick one up as I cannot afford to spend that much on a sixer right now.

 

Bestway still had plenty at 8:30am.

 

Just picked up a 6 pack at TW University Charlotte, limit 1 6 pack at $19.99....

Not sure if you could tell but did they have a decent amount or just a few cases? A friend from out of state wants to try it and I promised to make the effort.
