R.I. Craft beer Locations

LT's White IPA only has 4 reviews so its very new thus Im not expecting to see it around here quite yet.

 

Anyone in RI get Fou Foune that came out this week and wants to trade it? I got a bottle of 2011 Lou Pepe Kriek and some Heady Topper I'd trade for it. BM me or see post in IP beer trade forum.

Is Limbo a "west coast" IPA? They use New Zealand hops. I find it far earthier/spicier than the normal piney/floral/citrus forward west coast IPAs.

With that said Limbo >>>>> Rebel by miles, and they are stil both good.

 

Is the descriptor "New Age IPA" more suitable to your palate ?

 

I honestly think we are coming around to being able to categorized things like a "new age IPA" for sure. Some of these ultra hoppy, low malt, fruity tasting beers are far different from the IPAs of yesteryear.

 

By low malt I mean that there is muted malt flavor in favor of the hops...not necessarily low in malt in general

 

Thought it was just me. I’ve stopped going there, too. The beer has almost always let me down to different extents. Had food a couple times and neither time was good. Last time the burger I ordered had lettuce that was visually filthy – not washing it before serving it made me feel like the cooks don’t care enough - not to mention the burger wasn’t cooked right and was overall tasted mediocre at best. Lastly, the place just looks dirty and a bit neglected. It’s too bad seeing as they have a prime spot in the city. I would say there’s lots of room for improvement. But every time I’ve been there it’s been busy so I guess if people keep coming back there’s no need to fix anything.

 

I think this attitude, whether intentional or not, keeps them from being a top-notch brewpub (e.g. Willimantic) and a must-hit Downcity destination.

 

Anyone seen Gandhi Bot in RI? Haven't seen it in South County but heard rumors its in Providence and the surrounding areas. Will be in Providence on Friday and would love to get my hand on a few packs.

 

I see Trinity IPA on the shelf and Im gonna pick it up to see if its as bad as you guys say.

 

I don't think bottled Trinity IPA is half bad...I've got issues with their draft beer.

I haven't seen any Gandhi Bot in these parts in well over 18 months. Perhaps I just missed it.

 

Fou Foune was on the shelves at least two weeks ago at the shop I usually go to. wish I bought an extra one to trade you for some HT

 

where do you shop that fou foune is just sitting on shelves?

 

High Spirits had Fou Foune and Lou Pepe out. there was a bottle limit but I still was able to grab one of each.

I should note that I shop there regularly and know they sold through those bottles
