Yep. Do it. You won't be sorry. I had one of my two remaining '12 bottles the other night and it was fantastic with 9 month age on it.

KBS=Good BA beer. If anyone has any comparable BA stouts that are on par for value ($4$ & difficulty), I have around 12 of the '13 KBS sitting in my cellar. Those 12 took lots of legwork, though it was for a good beer.

Something for GR Locals?! Sounds good already. As always ... Looking forward to this release.

The beer does not age well in the sense that it's intended blend of flavors goes away , leaving a very chocolatety, almost coffee free flavor. I did a three year vertical last year. fresh is best

I'll definitely be making the drive back to MI from MD instead of wasting my time trying to hunt this down in the surrounding states

You mean a year and nine months age on it.

Just curious, since you're from IL - have you had Bourbon County? I've had both of these beers a couple of times, and BCBS seems to just wallop KBS in the "decadent dessert" description. Especially if you let it sit for three years. Oh dear me, it's amazing. That's not to detract from KBS though, as I love that one as well. But if I had to pick between the two, I'd take Bourbon County.

To each his own, but I would take KBS over BCBS everytime. BCBS is a weaker base beer flavor wise, and the bourbon character is a lot stronger. KBS has more layers of flavor to me, and therefore is the better beer for me. But thats why its great there are so many great beers to choose from!

Really enjoy KBS. I will hunt for some bottles, but I'm probably just gonna hit as many kegs of this as I can.

Hopefully the "April Fool" is that everyone gets a case.

Damn you guys with connects to get KBS cases.

I'll be lucky to grab two bottles, the maximum per person at my local store. I despise the density and lack of increased distribution in NJ. Breweries constantly underestimate the number of craft beer fans in NJ. There's such a huge market here and such a limited supply for special release like these, while a bunch of them sit and collect dust in rural PA and upstate NY.

I couldn't even find one bottle of BCBS this year. I'll count my blessings if I get even one bottle of KBS. Cheers to breweries like Victory and Sixpoint for actually recognizing NJ as a legitimate state for craft beer. Other breweries should take note.

Yes, KBS definitely sits and collects dust in upstate NY.

Have never head about KBS having around but have definitely heard about BCBS being available for months in upstate NY.

We've had an abundance of Founders seasonal releases in Milwaukee this year. Here's to hoping this streak continues!

Yeah, saying KBS collects dusts was probably a mistake on my part. Founders is still a lot better at distributing in NJ than Goose Island.

I more meant that BCBS sits on shelves in upper NY/PA while NJ got one tiny shipment that was gone in a day or two.

I just hope NJ gets treated similarly as PA and NY when it comes to KBS shipments. Our state may be smaller, but we are quite dense and love beer just as much'

Most limited allocations are decided by who sells the most volume of the year round/seasonal beers. So if a wholesaler in Rochester does 10% of the breweries volume, they will then recieve about 10% of the total number of the said limited beer they brewed. I think the problem with Jersey are the wholesalers themselves. For the most part they are some of the worst performing wholesalers for some great craft brands. They are constantly running out of product, sell out of code beer regularly, and therefore many brewers don't feel they deserve large amounts of a limited product. When it comes to brands like KBS, BCBS etc, its the wholesalers fault they get such small amounts allocated to them. Breweries take care of the people/wholesalers that are behind and take care of their brands, they don't want to reward people for bad sales and behavior.

Actually I checked that date it was April 13, not 12. Still fantastic with 9 months age.
