I agree completely with the "layers of flavor" comment. I love the rich black coffee flavor in KBS--it was what I was hoping BCB Coffee Stout was going to taste like, but I didn't detect much coffee in the bottle I drank.

Yea, I was able to get a single 2013 KBS from Copley Lizardville. One bottle limit last year.

What started me into his great journey of craft beer drinking was the day my ex-gf bought me a pack of All Day IPA. Prior to that time, I considered Sam Adams or Red Stripe to be good beers, but after that All Day I had a moment of revelation:

"BEER CAN TASTE GREAT!" Not just good, but GREAT.

By the time I had finished the bottle I was hooked for life on craft beers.

I have probably drank less than 6 macros since that fateful day. Viva la craft revolution!

I absolutely can't stand people like this! Nothing more than a spoiled brat having a temper tantrum because he isn't getting what he wants. "I want my beer and now I'm not getting it, so I have to start making an a** out of myself and ruin other people's day!" Don't any of you all be like that

Doubt it. When Lizardville River opened they tapped a keg and there were two of us "in line". KBS has been on draft at least 20 times in Cleveland area alone since 2013 was released, anyone freaking out over it is a newb or just a freak (not that there's anything wrong with that).

It's also a brand new Lizardville in Lakewood (people love to freak about beer there....not a bad thing mind you.) and they will have Hopslam on tap as well as Three Floyds Alpha King and a few others as well as Pappy 13yr from what I hear.....it's probably gonna be damn busy.

I suppose I have been saving for a "special occasion", but apparently nothing special enough has happened, Maybe a fellow BA or two can relate...

I actually buy what I can every year (usually between 1-3 bottles at most) just for special occasions. In fact, me and my fiance started a tradition 3 years ago and enjoy a KBS together every Christmas Eve. No need to rush through drinking them.

Not trying to be rude, but don't you think if anyone knew that it'd would be all over the forums including this thread?

Got a whopping 4 bottles in the Chicagoland area last year, and then 2 more from the worlds most generous trading friend (who throws in KBS as an extra?!?). This year Im gonna try my hardest to get a ticket and go straight to the source.

You guys won't like this, but I have it on very good authority that Founders will be making it to MD just in time for KBS (April 1st to be exact). Sorry and not sorry for the possible further distribution dilution boys and girls.

I've had a taste before and was gifted a bottle recently. I think it might be more to my liking than BCBS, but I've had more time with that and more recently. I just want more Rubaeus most of all. However, I am looking forward to trying their Imperial Stout, Curmudgeon, Dirty Bastard, Backwoods Bastard, Double Trouble and Devil Dancer.

Founders completed construction on their expansion just this past November, so I wouldn't expect to see an increase in distribution/supply of KBS till spring 2015 at the earliest. If anything, this year will be even harder to find KBS with the increased interest in both KBS and craft beer in general.

This might be considered 'unethical' but for places that limit bottles...cant you just go with a friend or two who don't actually want the beer? For example, two bottle limit...so you walk in with your significant other and you each grab your two bottles and then she just hands em over when you get in the car / back home.

Or, just try and grab a bottle from four or five different stores? I know there are stretches where there are a ton of good beer stores in like a five mile area (or at least around here) so you could easily just cruise around and make a bunch of stops.
