I remember Rogue Shakespeare Stout having a ridiculous amount of roasted flavor.

...then again, Rogue. You make the call.

I really really enjoy Hi-Wire's Strongman Coffee Milk Stout. Very roasty for a milk stout. I was really impressed.

I would have to concur about some of the previous beers, however the better examples are obsidian and especially mad river extra stout.

Magic Hat Heart of Darkness just because it is very roasty and no one else is gonna mention Magic Hat.

Man! thanks for bringing back a nice memory. Steelhead was the shit, havent seen it in quite some time. My favorite stout at the moment is Founders Breakfast Stout. I guess its a double, but man its so damn good!

Trader Joe's Stockyard Stout has a great roasted taste, and it's so hard to beat the price: $5.99 a sixer.

You think so? I guess (after double-checking) that the ABV is getting up there. Personally, I don't consider anything "imperial" that comes in $10 sixpacks (as opposed to $14 fourpacks ).

D'oh! You got me all right. That's one of my favorites too. Guess I'll have to perform some kind of "beer penitence". I'll dive into the cellar and post it on the "What are you drinking now" thread. Cheers!

One of the more roasty non imperial stouts that I have had is New Holland's the Poet. May not get a lot of love but is an excellent beer and is spot on for the style
