Now that's not Friendly, hence why I avoid this place and never recommend it. Should be call "The Fuck Me Spot" bc after you order your beers you feel fucked buy their ridiculous rates. Down the street is The Filling Station where you can get a pint of Sucks or Palate Wrecker for $6. And yes I said pint and for $6 that's fair.

Last time I went to the friendly spot they had an avery sour for something like $25 or $30, for a 12 ounce... Cant argue with the selection though, I don't know many places with that beer. I didn't order it I was just impressed they had it, and Im sure they still do.

Update: lunch at Esquire Tavern, historic bar and a nice place to have a couple, a lot of character. Had a St Arnold Bohemian Pils, Independence Stash IPA and 512 Pecan Porter. Glad to try some TX goodness. The Pecan Porter was my fave. Loved Stash's citrusy smell but that did not deliver through in the taste.

Stash and Pecan Porter are easily two of my favorite year-round TX beers. Glad you were able to try them!

Bar 1919 is a sleeper beer bar with a couple dozen good beers on tap and a bunch of bottles. Mostly a craft cocktail place but they had some good taps.

Last night had Real Ale Lost Gold and Karbach Hopadillo, both solid IPA's, along with a Real Ale Devil's Backbone tripel. Also a Rahr & Son's Storm Cloud, but this was not good, either an old bottle or just not good, gave it back to the bar for them to poor. Today, had a Lawmower and a Busted Sandal El Robosto porter. The porter was nice.

You guys have some decent beers here in SA, leaving tomorrow, enjoyed trying these TX locals while here.
