Yup, just grabbed some tonight at Shawan. They had The Public,The Citizen, The Corruption, and Penn Quarter Porter (all $9.99). Isn't OTWOA still brewery only, or no?

It's on tap at the release events, but I forgot to ask the brewers about its availability outside of that. It was drinking quite good at Max's last night.

    Excellent.

Awesome. Which one would you recommend? I may be hitting Shawan today :grinning:.

OTWOA is draft only in MD for now. Not sure how long that will last.

Beerinbaltimore.com is saying on twitter that Founders hits MD in April. He's well connected, so I'm actually giving in to hope this time.

Fort Collins Brewing just hit stores in MD today. I picked up the IPA and Red Banshee at Cindy's. They also had Major Tom and the Chocolate Stout.

That would be a major score if you ask me. Most of their beers rock!

There you go. Yeah he was there when we learned about it at the DC Brau night. Figured I would let him let the cat out of the bad. Also, everyone knows him so it is more believable. Yeah, people won't like the KBS distribution dilution.

That makes me more hopeful, but after numerous past disappointments, I'll still maintain a "I'll believe it when I see it attitude."

One thing that still concerns me.... April is just a couple of months away, which means it's close enough for places like Alewife or Max's to have a "new to Baltimore" founders event scheduled. To the best of knowledge, neither place does. Last time Founders was scheduled to debut in Baltimore, I think Max's had a huge Founders event scheduled, something like 3 months in advance. So why not this time?

Perhaps because they ended up having to cancel the event and ended with a little egg on their face? I'm just assuming but perhaps they'd want to wait for an official release from Founders?

There has been no official announcements for the Founders release, because again we are waiting for the State to sign some paperwork. Once that is done, we will be shipping trucks to Hop&Wine for distribution. Stay tuned for our launch party details, the draft list will not disappoint! Oh yeah just so you know I'm not bullshi$$ing you all, I am the Sales Director that is opening up the state. I was just up there last week checking out accounts and the beer scene. Cheers!

Maybe this is just bitterness at the thought of Founders teasing the state over and over, but your posts seem to be incredibly inconsistent about Founders. Your posts two weeks ago referenced information based on a friend that toured the brewery, then last week it was a friend that works for Founders, now you are saying you're a sales director for Founders? I hope what you are saying is true, but it seems a bit sketchy.

Yes, I really didn't want to get into a long conversation over new distribution or anything so I felt it was easier to say a friend told me., sometimes these forums can get brutal and overwhelming. But I can assure you I am not lying right now. With all of the rumors and back and forth with the state of MD, I wanted to clear things up for you consumers. We would have been in MD back in Dec, but the state has been dragging their feet approving licensing.

If you come to any of the launch parties, come by and say hello, I'll be the tall guy in a Founders shirt wearing glasses, thats not Dave Engbars.

Fair enough. You're right about the back and forth, it's been going on for quite some time now. We just want the day to get here where Founders is in Maryland!

Believe me we want to be in MD too. I'm a big fan of Max's and the Judges Bench, not to mention State Line. And after touring the state last week, I could sense the frustrations the bars, stores and consumers had. Thats why I'm coming out and being straight forward and honest about us finally coming, we know its way overdue. I hope to meet you at one of our launch parties. Cheers!

Will KBS be distributed in MD this year?

Yes. I don't know how much will make it to MD, but you will see distribution. We will be sending every beer we package or keg to MD, including the backstage series beers.
