Nobody determines the amount of KBS they receive, aside from how much regular Founders product that retailer sells during the year. It is a reward to the stores that order/sell the most product. They ask for KBS, sure. But, stores are given what Founders decides.

Let the bidding begin! (Me being cynical) In reality I'll live if I don't get a single bottle. I've had my 4 bottles and would find something else to seek. NO beer is THAT great...there are some wonderful ones but after a while, I'm learning that "beer-seeking-fatigue" sets in. That being said, I have my sources and I will (competitively) nurture them:wink:

Where was it on tap in Boston? I had BCBS at Stoddards in December.

What does the "& difficulty" mean for your trades? Just curious as I only do in person trades but "& difficulty" can mean lots of different things...like...driving 3 hours to VT from Boston...etc.

Founders seems to be doing something in GR a little earlier this year. A quick peek at their Twitter feed reveals the moderator responding with "Apr 1. A little earlier in GR but we aren't ready to announce just yet."

I am a little anxious to see how much is available this year. The market here is still saturated with Sweet Repute which hasn't gotten as bad of reviews as other BS beers. And it was brewed almost two years ago...

Sweet Repute is awesome, but apparently if it's not KBS or CBS, it sucks!

I wish they would do CBS 4 packs, but I won't hold my breath...

I'm happy with the surplus to go around. I don't believe Founders has ever release a "bad" beer and I believe it's impossible for them to live up to the bar that they set off the series with (Come on - Blushing, CBS, and Better Half). All incredible beers that are likely incredibly hard to produce. Sure, there are some that have just been "ok" by Founders standards but there are still 100s of beers that can't hold a candle to being "ok" by Founders standards.

I don't think we'll ever see a wide release of CBS again. If Founders can pull it off, then major props to them. I just don't think there is enough BLiS Barrels to manage a batch large enough unless they do something like Goose and do it local or like FFF and have some type of lottery system for the chance to purchase.

I'll cross my finger though. I had CBS for the first time out of the bottle and didn't really know/appreciate what I had. Enjoyed again at the beer fest last year and was absolutely blown away.

I will respectfully disagree. I think that it's a little too coffee-forward fresh. Don't get me wrong, I love coffee stouts, but I like when the Bourbon & Chocolate are on even playing field with the coffee. With the 2013 batch, that didn't happen until about 5 or 6 months in my opinion.

I just think what he's saying is...people don't like when others get cases of rare beers and just use them as trade bait. They don't like seeing stuff like this:

So what you are saying is in your mind, it's better to get a case and hoard it for yourself? You have to remember @Donco and I live in PA, a state with very odd beer laws. In many instances, beer is easier to come in a case over a 4/6 pack. My plan is if I can get a case, share some with my father and brother-in-law, trade some, and use the rest as extras. Spread the love. No need to hoard it for yourself when people want it and are willing to trade you beers that they have easier access to.

In short, don't be a dick.

I would just stop the madness sir. No one said anything about hoarding...and in reality NO ONE is going to get a case of this stuff. End of my participation in this thread:confused:

Did them back to back twice and I think BCBCS by more than a little. IMO BCBCS is the best Bourbon Barrel beer you can buy... at least flavored BB beer.

KBS is still damn good! Will not drink it next to BCBCS again though.

$6.25 per bottle is the absolute cheapest that i've ever seen KBS sold for in Pennsylvania. Multiple shops in the area have events where you're lucky to be drawn to have the opportunity to buy a bottle for $10. Another shop was selling them for $15.

I was able to do a KBS vs. BCBS comparison recently and BCBS was a clear winner (for my taste). That being said I hope to get my hands on a few bottles of KBS to do a KBS vs. BCBCS comparison in April.
