Southern Tier 2xOne Pale Ale

It has been popping up around Ohio the past week.. looking fwd to trying this one later in the week..

 

I beer but don't know much, but wouldn't a 2x pale be and ipa ?

 

Just curious, what don't you like about that one? I actually started off thinking that ST wasn't all that good, but that one kind of turned me around on them. Seems like a pretty underrated double IPA to me.

2XRYE really caught me by surprise; that's a fantastic easy drinking beer with a dangerously masked alcohol content. And 2XMAS was my go-to for Christmas this year; it had the exact balance of pronounced, but not overpowering, spices that I was looking for. So I'm definitely interested in trying a bottle of this one.

Wow! I wish I would've never read this! Now my expectations are waaay high and you know what usually happens then!

 

Southern Tier has been growing on me also, really liked the 2XRYE, Compass, LIVE but something about that double IPA fell flat for me when I had it. It could have had something to do with age/handling before it go to me. It has been a while since I had it, so might have to give it another go.

 

If 2XOne is actually better than Chillwave I'd be very pleasantly surprised. I've been looking for Mosaic beers ever since I had that, but none of them have had the same intense fruitiness of Chillwave. My friend who told me about Chillwave actually told me that Great Lakes made it with grapefruit juice. So if 2XOne is anything like that I'll be happy.

 

I'd never even heard of Chillwave - just looked it up, and realized I've never heard of its previous name either. I'm definitely going to have to keep my eye out for that one as well.

To me, taking all things together (price, quality, availability etc) Victory Hop Ranch is definetly the best beer of this year so far. I rarely have something from southern Tier that isn't quality, im lucky to have them in my backyard. I'm really looking forward to this one.

 

It was called Hoppe and was excellent. I have a sixer of 2XOne chilling in the fridge but haven't had one yet. The suspense is killing me...

 

I bought a sixes last Friday, and sampled it over the weekend.
Great way to experience mosaic hops.
Hopefully they continue this as a single hop series.

having it on tap right now.can't tell it's 8.1at all real easy drinker here.solid beer reminds me of zombie dust just not as good

Southern Tier Live is fantastic if you can find it fresh. I found it to be similar to Zombie Dust (I'm sure i'll be destroyed for this). Pretty excited about one, I usually love single hop series beers. Back to back first quarter winners!

Update. 2XONE is the shiz...

 

I just found some, it is excellent.

 

Whatever Cutlass was worked for me. I mean single hop Mosaic, Okay.

 

Wow, what a truly amazing beer.Mosaic hops are magical i think.
