    awesome

I love the rye on rye the way it is

off topic, but will blvd ever brew a really hoppy IPA? I know it doesn't really fit with the Belgian focus, and these types of beers may be a fleeting fad, but a smokestack hop bomb would be pretty stellar.

IDK if i'd call it "really hoppy" but it's pretty hoppy.

Their hoppiest beer is the new Mid-Coast IPA, which was only released in sampler packs. It's a former tasting room beer.

So the answer is technically "yes", but it remains to be seen if that one will see its own packaging and distribution, or if it will even come out again in the sampler packs.

I don't find the mid-coast to be very hoppy even though it is purportedly blvd's hoppiest offering

I am talking full blown hop bomb ala hopslam, pte, heady t, dreadnaught, etc . . .

    :astonished:

I found Mid-Coast (100+ IBUs) to be far hoppier than Hopslam (70). And at least in the same conversation with PtE and Heady. Never had Dreadnaught. Did you have it fresh? To me it was ALL hops. I could barely detect the grain bill (in a good way).

Had the new Rye on Rye on draft and thought it was phenomenal. Gonna crack a bottle soon and I keep hearing how amazing it is aged so gonna try and save one for a couple years.
Barrel forward beers are awesome but blending to make it a complimentary flavor is just as good. Look at Abyss.

Terra Incognita should be June, but that's brewed at Sierra Nevada this year.

I'm not sure why every brewer has to make a version of everyone's favorite beer. If you like Hopslam, drink Hopslam. No one else needs to make another Hopslam. Now, if they happen to make something better along similar lines, that's another story. But expecting them to do it makes no sense to me.

I wasn't saying make a hopslam clone or really expecting them to make any type of beer. I was just wondering if they would ever make a limited release badass high abv imperial ipa type beer because I think it would be awesome

It's really hard to speculate about what we will/won't brew. Four years ago I don't think I would've thought we'd brew Mid-Coast IPA.

Love Child No. 4 will be similar in that some of the base beers used in the blend are the same as previous batches, but barrel/foeder/stainless souring obviously influences the direction of the beer and creates year to year differences.
