Am I the only one who thinks that Pumpkinator is a bit thin and might not hold up to the barrels? I hope I'm wrong, and I still plan on trying 1 Monday but it's something iv been thinking about. I defiantly won't be driving all over town tryin to hoard.

I agree and honestly I didn't like it in the first place. I want Coffee Noir.

How is this different than the Deschutes/GI Collab Class of 88 that's already been out for a couple months?

Didn't know it was out. Spec's Houston will be releasing it, possibly again, along with FUN 009.

Has it been? Or just TABC label approved? I haven't seen it on any shelves....

My thoughts exactly. Pretty sure I saw that on shelves in December

I think this is one of those beers that is brewed at each of the three breweries, perhaps a different label for each time it was brewed? I have one the the one that came out last year, I think it was the Deschutes version.

The Class of 88 is a series with 5 breweries (Deschutes, GI, North Coast, Rogue, and Great Lakes) where Deschutes pairs with other breweries to brew a specific style to celebrate their 25th anniversary. Each brewery brews their own recipe so their are multiple versions of every style they release.

The first was with North Coast and Rogue for a barleywine, then Great Lakes for a Smoked Porter, and now GI for a Belgian Strong Golden Ale.

Its most likely you are remembering seeing the previous releases on shelves.

Specs 75 got a case of Backyard the other day, but they'll only sell it to you if you're on their VIP list.

What the fuck is the "VIP list"? Jesus Christ this jumping through hoops to buy a damn BEER pisses me off.

It is pretty tasty... maybe worth a hoop jump.

I totally get your point though.

I'd rather trade for it at that point. Almost less hassle.

You think that pisses you off? Try seeing the sales guy hand one to someone and then just have him shake his head "no" at you when you ask. I felt like I got turned away at the door of a fancy club or something. They're not the only game in town. I won't be back there. That's ridiculous.
