I went in there when they had Sweet Repute still in their database and the guy said he didn't have it and the database must be wrong with an ahole attitude. I wouldn't doubt if it was the same thing going on. I rarely go down there anyway I'll just stick to North Dallas/Plano.

They told me it is made up of the people who "spend the most" there, and they called them up and asked if they wanted a bottle, then held it for them.

I got a bottle at specs 75 last week. I am not on any list and dont really shop at that store. It was the day of the snow storm (1 inch lol) and I went for bomb, after i purchased 1 bomb and 1 noir I was leaving and looked in the window and saw tha case of backyard. Walked back in and asked for 1. Was no issue at all. Never gave my name or anything. So not sure what happened but there definitley wasnt a VIP thing that I saw or encountered.

Im speaking of Plano location on 75....... Maybe your referring to Dallas Total Wine 75?

Honestly, if a shop wants to sell to the customers that spend a lot of money there I'm cool with that. I juts moved from NY where I only ever went to one shop (granted it was the best one), I was a good customer to them. The owners/managers all new me and would shoot me a message whenever they got a new shipment and ask if I wanted them to hold a bottle (always only one, only fair). I appreciated it and they appreciated my business. Just stinks that now that I'm here I have to build up a relationship again and potentially miss out on some beers but that's only fair.

The Plano location on 75 told me they weren't getting Backyard at all and there were only 3 cases for all of Collin County so that makes no sense...

FYI he was probably talking about the Walnut Hill 75 location.

Ok gotcha on location. I never even been to that one.

Not sure what to tell you about not making sense, I absolutley bought one there last week when bomb was released on the snow day. I did call before i got there and spoke to 'Hunter" , he said there was no limit on bomb, got there 10 min later and limit 1. So I have yet to find a good contact there who knows what is going on.

Snk also got a case, so 2 total wine and snk. Maybe thats your 3? Anywhere else confirmed?

What about the people who can't afford to spend enough money on beer on a consistent basis to get on the "list"? I guess they're out of luck?

I have no problem with stores letting their best customers know when something is in so they have the best shot at getting it. But this store has apparently had it since 2/7 and I've called at least twice asking about it since then and both times I was told they didn't have it and didn't know when it would be in. They're just lying to people about it. I emailed management and they said that's not how it's supposed to work and they're looking into it. Yes, I'm that guy.

Are you saying businesses shouldn't reward their best customers? Just about every business in every industry will do the same thing. If individual employees aren't operating the way management is wanting them to then management should adjust the behavior of their employees. If it's a management policy though it's their business to run the way they see fit.

According to management that isn't supposed to be the policy. And the problem with it is that it discourages new customers from shoping there as well as encourages the sales people to only sell to their friends or those who give them money or other extras under the table. I completely understand taking care of loyal customers, that's why I said maybe they could alert those customers when something like that comes in so they will know before the general public and have the best chance to get that product. But if you only take care of your old customers and don't care about your new customers eventually you're going to have a problem.

I'm starting a new thread about this is anyone wants to discuss it further there. Thanks!

    1. If you have a job, then knowing when beers are in won't matter to you a lot of the time, they'll be sold out by 5PM.

    2. I doubt most new customers are coming in to find the beers that are often not even put out, just kept in the back. This helps to prevent people from hitting up 10 shops one after the other and hoarding a bunch of bottles.

    That's all I'll say.

If you have issue with favoritism please go to damn near every past release thread, and read about it there. Don't clog up this one.

So it sounds like BCBCS didn't even hit Dallas today but it did in Fort Worth and mid cities. What the hell?
