I just drank a Gumballhead and cracked a ZD. Tastes like the citrus bomb I remember!

I'm not from milwaukee but was there with a friend last Tuesday and they had it on tap along with a rye beer from Boulder, a stout from Finch's, and a couple other decent options. Blew my mind when I saw it on tap in a grocery store. I don't know how many whole foods are in the area but we were downtown and they had an underground parking lot if that helps. The guy pouring the beer said they don't care to publicly announce things like that. Only cost $5 for a pint, no growlers to go. Would be surprised if it's still there.

There's only one Whole Foods in the area, east side of mke. Don't most Whole Foods have taps? I was in DC recently and they had BCBS on tap.

The Whole Foods in Madison doesn't have taps, and doesn't have much of a beer selection.

Aw man, that's a bummer. I probably go there more for beer than I do for food, haha.

I agree. I grew up in Appleton but now live in the Madison area. It was quite the cultural shock when I visited the woodmans liquor store in Appleton recently!

Good to know. I wondered what Whole Foods provided for beer. Only once I went into the store but it was quite a while ago.

Had my first ZD at Whole Foods last year....$3 a glass was a nice way to try it out. Snagged a six pack on Thursday at a small shop near where I work. I may pop in again on Monday to see if they have any left... not the biggest craft beer scene there so I may get lucky.

If zombie dust and the others make there way to the green bay/appleton area, i will be loosing a trade chip for when i am up there around xmas time. ... Being 30 minutes from the brewery allows me to bring ip's to the interested parties of northern wisconsin. Cant imagine it lasts long on shelves in wisconsin.

Discount recieved a fair amount this last shipments (had to be at least 10 cases, maybe more?). Enough to sell 6-packs from open until almost 6pm. 1 6-pack limit. They did a great job.

Filling Station (of all places) had a keg on tap about two weeks ago. No growlers. Didn't make it to Whole Foods, but apparently they had a bunch as well. Didn't check Downer.

Ray's seems to be saving theirs for their 11/30 beer event.

Roman's has it on his "up next" list. He also had a few really rare (at least for Wisco) beers on tap as of yesterday.

Zombie Dust just hit Discount Liquor Milwaukee yesterday. Not sure how much they got, but a buddy of mine walked in there and was pleasantly surprised. Anyone know if any other stores in the state received shipment of ZD?

Discount has had it since last Monday. Word is they are sold out today. Rumblings are that Downer is going to release at 5p with a 2 bottle max. Discount was only doing 1 bottle but they were also only charging $2. I got 3 on different days this week so it lasted a while. I hope it wasn't too shitty of me to get 3. I didn't bring mules or anything. All separate visits on separate days.

I say 3 separate days is not shitty. You gave other people a chance.

also you bought only half a six pack.... I am sorry but I hate places that split up 6 packs! That is what bombers or for! If you want to overcharge for a single bottle that is why the bomber was invented.

Totally agree... the single bottles actually wouldn't even ring up at the register. The clerk looked in her folder and said availability was a 6er for 11.99 but they wouldn't budge. I'm not too bothered by it... this gives more people the opportunity to try it out cause I would have more than likely bought a 6 pack on those 3 occasions then I would be the King of Milwaukee with my 18 bottle stash of ZD. The real quality thing about it though is Discount seemed to be doing it ONLY to maximize the availability. I would have gladly paid double what they charged me, but they kept the per bottle price the same as it would have been in the 6 pack - no selfish intent or profiteering there, just seemingly trying to do the right thing for as many people as possible. I'd be curious to know if Downer rolls the same way.

ZD should be hitting Milwaukee more regularly this year. It's been available slightly more often on tap, and definitly more often on the shelves (in some cases enough to sell entire 6-packs.) Across the border it's possible to pick up 1-2 cases no problem and is on tap almost non stop in Chicago.
