Before I throw up an FT, I just wanted to see if anyone had any interest in Dark Intrigue. A local distributor just got in FIVE cases completely by random, and I was thinking of picking one up to trade the remnants off if anyone had a hankering for it. I wouldn't be looking for a ransom for it, really just $4$...anyone interested, or should I just keep walking and let the cases collect dust?

Title should read: "Anyone Intrigued by Dark... Intrigue?"

Still on the shelves here in Philly. Though it's still overpriced here, too.

After I had it this year I understand why Victory stopped making it!

Still on shelves... they made a shit ton of it this year.

It makes for a very nice extra or a BIF target beer.

It's not bad, just a beer that's better without the barrel...

As of the last time I was there 2 weeks ago, Westover Market in Arlington had some bottles sitting on the shelf.

To the OP, I am sure there are people that would be interested in trying it. Now most of these threads are mostly trying to figure out if beers will trade for anything rare or limited. If that is what you are wondering, the answer is no.

agree with everything up until "better without the barrel," which i think is sort of a personal preference thing. myself, i think storm king is too hoppy, not smooth enough. dark intrigue fixes "the problems" (according to me), but still retains a lot of storm king's character. i thought it was a real success, at least batch 1 (haven't tried batch 2).

doubt the value will ever rise above locals, but it could be a very satisfying extra. if i were on a trading kick and had a few things someone wanted, i might trade for it (shrug). i wouldn't trade for it now, since i know several places to just go buy it...

$4$ at around $15-$18 should do for this one. I personally liked it and look forward to drinking more.

I like this beer quite a bit, but hey if others don't...more for me! That said, I have about six bottle and it's easy enough to find so trade value is minimal.

Yeah - definitely preference. I like Storm King's hoppiness. If I were trying it nowadays for the first time, it would probably get lost in the shuffle of Black IPA's out there. But for a decade ago this guy was pretty novel, and I got hooked on it long before the Black IPA had become popular. Thus I still enjoy it from time to time...

Yes it does! I thoroughly enjoyed the one you sent me.

...and I'll have to absolutely agree with everything said here. Storm King, for MY taste, was abit too hoppy. The barrel aging leveled out that hoppiness and brought out more of what I enjoy in a good Imp. stout. But yeah, of course those are more my personal preferences.

Yeah, I wasn't really hunting OMGWHALES here....more just seeing if anyone actually was interested in $4$. Doesn't look like there's too much interest...not surprised, though.

I sit on the other side of the fence and liked it when I had it a few months ago.
