touche. I should say- the batches that I purchased. My apologies. I just have not had very good luck in the packages that I have purchased (mostly the core stuff, Bengali, Crisp, and Action).
I'm not trolling though, I assure you. Just expressing some of my experiences.

Did you ever consider that those beers may have been mishandled AFTER they left the brewery? Keep in mind the beer touches at least five different hands before it even ends up in your shopping car (freight carrier from brewery to wholesaler, unloading at wholesaler dock, loading onto pallet at distributor, delivery to the retail store, and loaded onto the shelf for purchase).

Of course seeing that you live in NY it might be easier for us just to meet up and talk about it. :-)

Your experiences are not unique. In the past few years I have purchase three 4-packs and two of those batches had problems: excess diacetyl in Crisp and an infection in Apollo (I had to toss the last two cans from that pack). The third was just poorly brewed (Autumnation). Sixpoint in their correspondence like to point to the distribution/retail chain but there is no doubt in my mind the issues are occurring at the Lion Brewery.

    Cheers!

P.S. I have 'spoken' to Shane on the issue of the bad 4-pack of the Crisp. It took several e-mail exchanges back and forth but he did compensate me for that one particular bad product. So I would encourage others to contact Shane at Sixpoint when you have problems with your cans of Sixpoint.

I've had Apollo, Bengali Tiger, Diesel, Harbinger Saison, Resin, Spice of Life - Summer, and The Crisp.

I think my favorite of those is Apollo. I really wish that beer was year round.

I have a soft spot for 3Beans cause an old work buddy of mine brews the coffee for it.

Really liked these three for their cans.

As far as their drafts, the entire Spice of Life Series that I have tried has been good, and the Mad Scientist stuff is interesting. I swear one of them tasted like a smoked cheese plate.

That was the Lichtenhainer. One of the most ambitious Mad Scientists styles we had taken on. Here is a brief historical description from our blog:

"Reminiscent of the Grätzer, but more of a combination of a Berliner Weiss and Rauchbier, the Lichtenhainer is a sour smoked ale style from villages around Jena, Germany. The brew reached the height of its popularity in the 19th century, before petering out to near extinction in recent times."

Not for the faint of heart - but important to understand the entire context of craft beer throughout time.

I enjoyed Apollo, Sweet Action and The Crisp, but those are the only ones I've tried. Wouldn't pass up on some of their limited draft offerings they have listed on the website, some of them sound right tasty.

Resin to me is possibly their best beer in their lineup. I was hoping Hi Res would be a super fresh hop experience. I'd rather drink a head hunter or hop ranch for the price range. I like that in Resin, you get the moshpit of fresh piney resiny goodness.

Their most memorable beer for me was when I had Seispunto Especial callously served through a line that must have previously served a chile beer. Unless there is a secret ingredient in the beer that I am not aware of, this is the likely explanation for what I drank. This is not a backhanded compliment. Standout Serendipitous Extra Mad Scientry?

Just getting into SixPoint -- passed them by at the store for years but tried the Global Warmer on tap in December and was impressed. Decided to try The Crisp last week -- cracked my first pint after shoveling snow for an hour and it couldn't have tasted better.

You get the award for the most rare response! The Seispunto Especial did not actually contain any chile peppers - although that would make a fun one-off.

I have yet to have a bad Sixpoint beer so I can't name just one... Top five?

    3Beans
    Resin
    Hi-Res
    Apollo
    Global Warmer

And they always like and sometimes comment on my Instagram posts of their beer. I think they are a model brewery!
