That doesn't even *sound* good. Having tried most of the Shock Tops, the only one I've ever really liked was the lemon shandy, and something tells me that come summertime, if I try it again, I'll wonder what I was thinking.

    We've got a '96 Old Fezziwig bomber (maybe it's 24oz) that's serving similar duties.

I definitely would like to try it, but mostly for the fact that I have never tried anything that BA has listed as an American Dark Wheat Ale.

It was pretty 'meh.' And I wasn't a fan of the "black & tan" combo with the original Shock Top.

I doubt I'll try it, but the idea of a Choc wheat beer sounds great

I've only had one. Ruddy Wheat, by Weston Brewing in Weston, Missouri. It was awesome, but the other BA's disagreed.

Don't do it. Went to visit my in-laws in Texas last year and offered to go get some beer for the duration since we were staying in their guest bedroom. Mother in law says "nah, just tell me what you like and I can get a bunch of options".

Not wanting to be too difficult, I said "well, I'm usually a fan of IPAs", and one of the beers she brought back was the wheat IPA. Tasted EXACTLY like regular Shock Top. I know because she also brought back a sixer of regular Shock Top.

Spent the rest of the weekend being relatively satisfied with the Shiner Bock she also brought.

I'll bet the reviews would be better if it was served in a can labeled "Oskar Blues" instead of a Shock Top bottle.

My wife bought some and I had to sample. I was actually surprised at how much I liked it. It's a pretty tasty beer. Kind of like dessert in a glass. I couldnt figure out how to layer it with the regular Shock Top, though. So, I ended up diluting the Chocolate with some of the regular swill a couple of times.

This sentiment is why I was surprised it has scores even as high as it does. For a BMC beer to get scores in the mid 3's, it must be good, right?

Ok. I'm ready to bite the bullet. Does anyone know if it is sold in it's own six pack, or is it only in a mix or sampler pack

Local bar here has it on tap. I had one just to see. I'll not be having another.

My buddy got the "black and tan" pack; together it wasn't horrible, I guess what I was expecting. If you want to be snobby about it then yeah its shitty fake craft but if you want to just drink to enjoy, go for it.
