Never had Assassin. The beer it most closely reminds me of is Black Tuesday.

I love how people wet their pants for Bourbon County, when this beer is WAY better and doesn't get nearly the love.

Batch 3 is my favorite so far

If this beer was priced at a four pack for $20-25 bucks, I would wet my pants more

More importantly I totally agree; and I am one of the people who swear by BCBS. UJS is way better. Totally agree with that

I know that Assassin was rye barrel, but the sweetness cancels that out a bit. UJS tastes more like Assassin than any other beer that I have had. On a review of Assassin, I said that I would rather just wait and get UJS than the hassel of getting Assassin. Both have hints of bourbon soaked graham cracker IMO

I prefer the first batch. 17.42% was just right.

I agree with the bourbon soaked graham crackers. I guess the slightly lower abv makes it a little less boozy but I like 3 the best as it doesn't seem quite as sweet.

I bought a couple of 4 packs of BCBS for $18 each! I wet my pants. While agree UJS is better, the price makes it difficult to enjoy as many.

So, I've been unable to get to the store until tomorrow. Any chance there's some Uncle Jacobs left anywhere? Preferably in the south?

    Probably not!

I think you'll be fine. I went by Mr. B's today and grabbed 3 (their limit) and it looked like they had a decent supply. I didn't ask how much they got though. Call around and ask, from all I've heard the release didn't have a ton of people attend and sounds like plenty is making its way to stores.

Do you know if there is a certain time or will it be available all day? I have the day off, but I don't want to have to go back if I'm early.

Give 'em a call. I usually call before going.

I did, I just hate to bother them. I'm sure they get a lot of calls when these releases come out. I like to be an easy customer.

I'd give UJ a very slight edge over BCBS when fresh, but I have not found UJ to age very well. BCBS wins in the age-ability category.

I really enjoyed Batch 1 UJ with 6 months and a year on it, even more so than fresh.
