In March I will be going to Raleigh, NC for the NCAA mens basketball tournament, going to watch some March Madness! I am from Iowa and have no idea what beers are the go to's in NC. If any of my North Carolina beer lovers can give me some recommendations on some local great craft brew that would be very appreciated.
Thanks in advance for the beer ideas! Cheers!

I would keep an eye out for Jade bombers from Foothills, 4pks of NoDa HopDropNRoll, and possibly growlers of Wicked Weed Freak by that that time. Ridgewood Wine & Beer is a great place just down the street from PNC, and Tasty is another quality spot further downtown.

Hit up Bottle Revolution, very close to PNC and has awesome beers for sale and on tap

I have been extremely impressed by what Raleigh Brewing is doing. And I'm not at all easily impressed.

I went to the Big Boss taproom and had a lot of fun. I don't think their beers are the best in the world, but a good chance to try different ones and hang out.

I also recommend hitting up Trophy Brewing, Busy Bee, and Raleigh Times if you are downtown - tons of new breweries in the triangle in the last couple of years.

Crank Arm is a cool place (brewery) with good beer. The Pit is across the street- great BBQ. Near the main downtown area.

Second the Foothills Jade IPA and NoDa Hop Drop N Roll.

NoDa Hop Drop is a must. One of the best IPAs out there... And that's not an NC bias.

Close to PNC? that screams Bottle Revolution. Might also want to hit up Trophy, Crank Arm, Busy Bee Cafe, and Gizmo. If youre willing to explore a bit, in Chapel Hill you have Beer Study and Steel String in Carrboro.

Durham gives you Fullsteam, Sams Quik Shop, and Bull City Burger and Brewery.

For the dark horse, I was at Lynnwood Brewing Concern last night, and it seriously impressed me.

Definitely second the Ridgewood recommendation. Amazing tap selection, awesome service, and right down the road from PNC.

+1 on Ridgewood. Best tap list in town and best prices on bottles for sure. REAL close to PNC.

Olde Hickory's Imperial Stout 2014 just came out and it is outstanding.

Event Horizon is still around too.
