Expected Releases in February

Snagged a couple of Vanilla/Coffee Noir around town today along with some Uncle Jacob's. I got a line for some BB6 for next week, here's hoping I can snag a couple.

Also found the grapefruit IPA collab. by Stone, interested in trying it today.

 

My beer guy said Tuesday for Austin for Uncle Jacob's... This was HEB, so I'm guessing it could hit the smaller stores Monday.

 

Apparently there was an issue with the SKU. The ones I bought at Spec's had stickers on top of the barcode.

 

Bottled Feb 4th on the new batch, last years was June IIRC.

 

Hearing Fresh Squeezed 6 packs are surfacing. Anyone in DFW see this yet?

 

Not sure if anyone posted this already but TW 75 in Dallas has Uncle Jacobs and Whole Foods on Park Ln in Dallas has BCBCS. Both are limit 1.

 

Yeah the beer guy at HEB in Round Rock had to print out new stickers and put them on the bottles, because they were ringing up as $13.99 a bottle when they're supposed to be $9.99.

 

Well shit. I paid $13.99 at TW today in Dallas.

Uncle Jacob was 12.99 for me.

 

not to be that guy, but that's not that out of line if you compare it $/oz to black tuesday/chocolate rain, which are both in the 17% range, unlike noir, in the 11% or so range.

beer gets weird after like 12%. the process is a bit different above and below. iirc.

Well shit, now I'm totally confused. I'd think that a brewer as experienced as Avery wouldn't suffer from infected bottles and rusting caps like some of the newer players. But I'm a new kid at BA and can't read Lutter for shit. I'm not about to open my only UJ to see if he's bullshiting. Only time will tell I guess...and maybe Lutter

 

Screw it, better not risk it. I'll just throw it out.

 

TW Dallas was selling UJ for $12.99 a bottle, just an fyi.

 

I want to say UJ was 12 at the brewery when I was there during the release so the HEB that had it at 10 is a mistake I think.

Also from a thread on the Mountain forum re UJ release and the timing:

"And last year's summer Uncle Jacob's release was an anomaly... we just couldn't clear a tank long enough for the fermentation stage because we were ramping up production on so many other things. Once that was delayed a few months, everything was delayed. The goal is to put it out every year in January, so we almost made it this time. With any luck I'll get my homework done on time next year...
