The annual brewers open house is upon us, any body got plans? Here in Beeringham, the free shuttle bus will again be running between the 3 running breweries (Boundary Bay, Chuckanut, Kulshan), and I'm not sure if the 2 new breweries (Wander, Aslan) are participating at all (even tours?). As has become tradition, this will be the release of the only yearly bottling of BB's ImpIPA. What's going on in your neighborhood?
I will be hitting up Reuben's for some Boubon Barrel beers, checking out Stoup Brewing, and finally heading to Fremont for brews and a brewery tour. Blimey, this will be a good Saturday!!
I'm stopping at Fremont quickly for a pint. That's it. Brew day with the SeattleBeerZoo takes priority.
I am thinking of doing Reuben's and Fremont...any word if Fremont is going to have anything special available?
I was thinking of hitting the Seattle zoo with my kid, (the one with animals, not the one with beer penguins and giraffes and whatnot) and then stopping off at Reuben's and/or Fremont.
The something else was the hazelnut, smoked peppercorn, and oak darkstar. Which to me is as good as the bourbon barrel offering. Stuff is amazing. Does seeing the keg of First Nail now mean it was bourbon barrel aged, or just cellared?
Birdserker was very good, looking forward to picking up my allocation of Reuben's Blimey soon. Plus I got the $1 last pour of Sound barrel-aged Old Scoundrel at Malt and Vine. Good stuff.
Ticked off all three above. No free beer at any of them. Conclusion: Based on this random sampling of three WA Open House is no Zwickelmania. Not that I give a shit about a little free beer, just saying it's a nice touch that was missing.
