Being in this distribution I have no real bait, how many KBS or BCBS would it take me to land one of these. Still not sure the hype would be worth it.

If your trading solely on taste, keep you bcbs or KBS, Dark Lord will disappoint, but I'd say $4$ of what you got would land you a bottle

I have one DL left, not oposed to trading it. Love BCBS.

Yeah that's about what I figured was 3, I guess to me three in the hand is worth more than 1 in the bush. Not looking to tick just to see what all the fuss is about, will let it die down and see if I can't either make it to Indy with Mongo or convince one of the lucky among my friends that they want to share.

To get one for three would be a great deal imo. While you're thinking solely in ounces, you have to take cost and rarity into consideration (cost of DL = $15, cost of three BCBS = $15; rarity of DL = four bottle limit/brewery release, rarity of BCBS = no limit but hard to acquire through distribution). I probably wouldn't do it for less than four, but I genuinely like Dark Lord.

As far as your friends, if they're not sharing their DLs, they're not really your friends.

Actually I was thinking in enjoyment, ie for I could open 1 of the 12 oz on three seperate occassions vs the one DL, as far as trading goes, 1 DL is a quarter of your alotment I know very few people who have 12 BCBS or KBS of this year, That was my thought for three vs one but you never know. Meanwhile as I ponder I will drink the silly amount of beer I have now and be happy. A Myrcenary and a Double Trouble served me well tonight.

Don't know how often you make it back to Terre Haute, but I'm sure Hayes would be more than happy to open a Dark Lord with you the next time you're up that way. If not, he can probably find someone willing to trade one.

I own all of the beers mentioned in this thread and like them all. My favorite is KBS, but DL is so much harder to get than KBS that I wouldn't trade a DL for a 4pk of KBS.

in some cases yeah, but KBS was a complete pain in the ass to get this year. last year i was able to get like half a case and this year i got TWO bottles. i can see someone willing to trade a DL for a 4pack. actually, if i had any DL12, i'd probably do it.

you're not ready for beer trading; you sound way too logical and smart about the money you spend on beer. come back to us when you're ready to get reckless and inefficient with your beer budget.

I would totally trade one of my Dark Lord's for KBS four pack.

If you like KBS & BCBS, just keep them. DL is a very different style of imp. stout, and I'm going to guess you probably won't like it all that much.
