Anyone attending the Two Brothers event on Sunday? I'm gonna go check it out, but at 21.99 a bottle for "Midwest Death Metal" I might have to try it on tap before I fork over the cash for multiples of that bottle

Agreed. Should be meeting my wife and brother-in-law around 5-6 (after I get out of work).

Ok, I'm a total dummy. I finally got around to checking the Two Bros site when I got home from work yesterday and guess what? It sold out around 5pm. *slaps forehead*

I can still go and get a ticket at the door, but that doesn't guarantee the ability to pick up any Death Metal. If one of you kind gentlemen that have a ticket are not intending to purchase any bombers, I would be eternally grateful if you wouldn't mind sharing your good fortune and letting me purchase your two bottle allotment. I would of course return the favor with a round and sharing of tales. Feel free to shoot me a BM.

Full disclosure: These are for personal consumption, not profiteering. I love, love, love, BA stouts and especially want to support our local breweries. My wife really likes their Ebel's Weiss, so I'll probably pick up a fresh 6-pack of that as well to brown-nose as she'll be at home watching the little one.

Since Two Bros was one of the first real craft breweries that got me in the game way back when, they'll always have a spot on my alcohol riddled liver. However, where do they get off charging $21.99/bomber for something nobody has ever had (I don't think)? I hope this beer is worth every penny but that's a pretty steep price tag.

At 6:00pm during the party they will be selling the unsold remaining bottles.

Wow $21.99 seems VERY overpriced, I'm glad I didn't get around to buy a ticket

Understood. Maybe I'm being overly cautious, but I would prefer to have something for sure than to trek all the way out there and possibly not have any bottles remaining...or have others waiting in the 6pm line before I get there. Either way, I hope it works out.

Chump change compared to the great offerings FFF had at $35/bottle.

Good point. So I guess that's my worst case scenario, which isn't horrible. I wonder how much drafts will be if the bombers are $22? And I can still pick up the Ebel's Weiss to keep the wife happy. Thanks for cheering me up everyone!

How do you suppose a beer is overpriced before you've tasted it. Especially a bourbon barrel beer. I know Two Bro's isn't the most innovative brewery but the price is pretty much right there for barrel aged beers.

Whoa, $22 is not the average price of BBA Imperial Stouts. Both Surly Darkness and 3-Fs DL are in $15-18 range. GI-BCS is a little higher.....but all those brews have a proven track record. And, on Two Brothers website, the description of Midwestern Death Metal shows a 5.8% abv...I hope that's a typo, that would be totally odd. This just feels forced, from the corporate friendly skull logo, to the $5 party to buy the beer....think I'll sit this one out.

Here's a good article about what you can expect at the party and with the:

    beer. http://www.chicagoreader.com/Bleade...ly-at-the-brewerys-upcoming-cabin-fever-party

Totally respect the decision to not want to purchase. I do feel like Two Brother's is not the "beer nerds" brewery, but more for people who like craft but don't obsess, or join Beer Advocate to talk about beer. But I don't think there is anything "forced" about this beer. It's a small batch release of a Barrel Aged Beer at a party with some other goodies on tap for all the suburban people who enjoy a good craft beer party every once in awhile. Nothing first here, but if it's not your cup of tea that is fine.

For me it is very subpar, very thin and not getting any of the bourbon or vanilla. Hope
You all had different experiences than mine but don't think it's worth 21.99 a bottle
