What do you guys think of this ? The ratings are so/so, not terrible but not glowing. Is this worth the $10 or so for a bomber ? I've only had the IPA from them but it's so inconsistent I've been buying Sucks which is a lot better

I would say it's not worth it, but you should be able to find it on tap pretty easily if you want to try it.

It's ok. The cherry is pretty subdued as is the chocolate so I'd just buy the double brown. Worth a taste at a bar however if you're overpaying anyways.

Thanks, brewers are getting a little too greedy with bomber pricing. If I can get a Stone IRS for $5.99 there's no reason for a local brewer to charge $9.99

FTFY, the beer is serviceable for me. There is a strong roasted flavor moreso than chocolate or cherry to this beer. To be fair, Stone is one of the only brands that we get with reasonable pricing, and they have the benefit of scale.

The first year of Cherry Chocolate Double Brown was great. Very good dessert beer. Last year was a huge disappointment. I'd rather have just had the Double Brown as stated above. Sounds like it hasn't improved any this year. Here's to hoping.

I thought it was better this year compared to last year, from what I remember of last year's version. The cherry and the chocolate are subtle, I don't know why everyone feels a beer has to smack you in the face with everything up front (maybe a subtle mingling of the flavors is what the brewer was after?). The two flavors play nicely with the roasted malt character.

I would say it's definitely worth trying at a bar on draft and if you like it, it's not unreasonably priced at $9.99 a bomber, but to each their own.

I know it's popular to hate on Deep Ellum, or so it seems, but I really enjoy this beer, though I would prefer if this was a few dollars less. Quakertown Stout is one local bomber that seems priced just right to me though.

I won't try to speak for everybody but my beliefs are that there are better beers to spend my money on and seemingly better people to give my money to.

As for bomber prices add Lagunitas bombers to the conversation for reasonably priced. Hop Stoopid is usually around $6 as is their Imperial Stout.

I just bought my first bomber of Cherry and i must say it seems to be priced fairly, of course Deep Ellum can't be compared to Stone or Lagunitas, these are way bigger breweries producing a shit ton more beer than what DE does which is why the difference in price.

I will post a review on the beer once i've tried it and i usually am under deviation so we'll see.

just didn't care for it much, value and any DE-bias aside.

drain poured about a third of it, ready to move on to something more interesting.

maybe i'm just more of a D/IPA or RIS guy.
