I experienced Backyard Rye and I must say that I love this beer. Are there any other breweries out there that produce a similar beer (bourbon aged stout with berries added)?? Would love to hear some suggestions...

I can't think of one off the top of my head, but you can always mix two together and make one.

One of the most incredible beer I have ever tasted, I would argue that there is nothing even close. I think the above suggestion is the best you will get, buy some Bourbon County Stout and experiment with additives. I have been known to add a jigger of bourbon to Breakfast Stout as a poor man's substitute to KBS. No, it is not the same but it keeps me warm on a cold Winter's night.

Central waters in WI normally releases barrel aged satin solitude aged on Cherry's around this time called brewers reserve cherry stout. May not be released this year though. Should also note they are tart Cherry's so it lacks the jammy- ness that I presume your enjoy so much about backyard.

I haven't drank my backyard yet, but I enjoy Lindlay Park, a nice BB stout with raspberries. Might not be exactly the same, but seems to be a whole lot easier to get.

Even though it was brewed by the same brewery, Bramble Rye is even more fruit forward although in my opinion, Backyard Rye is a better drinking experience overall.

I'm embarrassed to say that i've tried this before ( I know, its not even the right beer). It turned out terrible, i had to pour it out, and that's not something I do. I love breakfast stout and bourbon too. So please kids, don't try this at home, its a waste of a good beer and good bourbon.

I haven't had Backyard but if it's anything like Cherry Rye then no, there are no easily-available similar beers. I suspect there aren't too many limited/local ones either.

Backyard, IMO, is tied with Vanilla for best BCBS variant. I havent had Rare or King Henry. I know this is helpful, just gld to find a thread with so much love for this beer.

Wow. I opened my Backyard this weekend as part of stout tasting. Opened it along side the rest of the 2013 bourbon county line and I liked Backyard Rye the least. I just couldn't get into the fruit flavors.

They're not in the same class (and not barrel aged,) but I find the Pipeworks Abduction series to be very enjoyable and much easier to come by. The cherry, raspberry, and orange truffle abductions all do a very good job at integrating the fruit flavors into the stout.

Yeah. I originally had it over SB weekend, which is why I went on a trading kick for it. Already drank the bottle you sent me!!! I'm like an addict that needs another hit!!
