I also picked upp a bottle. Is there clear brett character or is it more hop forward?

DEFINITELY noticeable brett character, I personally did not enjoy that beer. The combination of brett and citrus-y, fruity hops tasted like a strange mash up of plastic and peach on my palate. It smelled much better than it tasted. And most of the people at the tasting who tried some were underwhelmed as well. To each their own right, however, this beer is $18 locally. This makes me very glad I did not buy this one when it came out.

Yeah, it is not cheap. However I like so much for instance Anchorage brett IPAs, so if this is even near that, I would be happy. Also Evil Twins Femme Fatale IPAs are really good to my taste.

    Probably is better drink fresh...

Oh it was fresh. And the Anchorage brett IPA's are better than this beer in my opinion.

Ok, so Norway is very costly when it comes to beer. But not even here you need to cough up $ 22 for a Pale Ale in a bottle shop. A bottle (50 cl) of Ægir start at about $ 8,50, and goes up to $ 26,50 for the Ægir Lynchburg.

In a bar it would be a different story though....

There are cheaper options than Ægir no doubt?

Maybe, but however, Nögne and Haand are also very expensive beers in Norway.

Yeah but everyone is beautiful in Norway and everything is paid for by the gov't. So no one needs to drink much there.

Merica' is delicious! I got it in a trade a while back. Lots of grapefruit and citrus to it.

People here are saying the beer is $9 in Iowa, $13 in Ohio, and $18 in PA. It all comes from the same importer in Massachusetts at probably the same price. How do you blame them for the beer being twice as expensive in a state on the East Coast as it is out in Iowa?

I tried this at a bottle share on Wednesday. Possibly the favorite of the night and there were a lot of excellent beers!

Fair point. But I'm not defending the retailers; have at them all you like (though one could offer conjecture that for some reason Shelton could be forcing more garbage inventory on East coast retailers if they want Prairie/Mikkeller, but that doesn't seem to hold water). I do know that the Shelton Bastards are more aggressive about forcing duds on loyal stores than say, Twelve Percent. But compare Evil Twin (Twelve Percent) pricing to Mikkeller (Shelton Bastards) and this doesn't seem to matter much.

I'm just tired of seeing people accuse Mikkeller of high pricing. In Denmark/Scandinavia, Mikkeller pricing is on par with other artisanal beers. You can't say that about The Bruery here in the U.S., or Brewdog in the U.K.
