After almost three years of buying Pax Brau beer I got this glass as a Thank You.

My :grimacing: was intended to indicate how awesome I think that glass is, though! I'm a fan.

    Understand.

The guy who sells Pax Brau on Ramstein recognizes me. We were talking about different Pax Brau beers, American and Belgian beers. He figured out how long I have been buying off him and gave me the glass along with a couple of non Pax Brau beers.

Pax sent me a Teku Pro-bier glass with one of their shipments last year... a week ago I dropped it and now it's no more, except a million glass splinters. I meant to ask him for another eventually at BKL, but we got to talking about my beer, so I got sidetracked. BTW, he said he liked my Lebkuchen Braun Ale and agreed it was hard to know just how much (a little) cardamom to use in a beer, since mine was overly spiced with it.

So sorry about the Teku glass. In your mind did it happen in slow motion? I lost a Three Floyd' s glass and I could have sworn that it took 1 minute to hit the floor.

The wife and I picked up a few bottles of this a few weeks ago while skiing in the alps:

Quite a nice stout at 10%, one in a line of "craft" beers made by the brewer from Brauerei S. Riegele.
As good as it was though, I let her drink most of it as a couple Andechs Hell were much more satisfying after a full day of skiing the dolomites.

I used to frequent a retailer who was as cool as that -- also gave me free beer now and again. Guy retired and sold the shop for a bundle. New owners aren't as regular-customer friendly.

Pretty good piece about old brewing techniques getting revived as a part/result of the "craft" beer trend in Germany. Author wonders -- I believe rightfully so -- if the brewer is really providing something beneficial, or just looking for a marketing "in."

And now there is a "social media" ranking list for German/Austrian etc. beers. I sincerely hope beer doesn't become a competition over there like it is here.

    OK, a few questions:

    1) Was it full?
    2) What beer was it full of?
    3) How do you plan on keeping it cold?
    4) How many people do you suppose you would need to finish it?

Looks like a 50 liter keg so to empty it in one day you'll need 400 BAs or 40 Rednecks or 12 Bavarians :stuck_out_tongue:
