I created a photobucket account so I can post photos in the BA forums, but when you click on them to enlarge the photo - it takes you to photobucket.

I see photos that others post just enlarge, conveniently, right here at beeradvocate. How can I make the photos I post do that?

Use a different hyperlink? just guessing but if you read below the hyperlinks it says for "forums etc..." or for "Blogs etc...) don't know if this helps.

This sounds right. I use Imgur and always use the BBCode link for message boards.

This is what I do - but I'll try one of the others...? Maybe I'll have to try Imgur and see if I like that better.

Post photo to imgur. Copy your imgur image .jpg link and paste it into the image link in beeradvocate forum. Bingo.

I don't know why Photobucket gets such a bad rap around here, I use it without any problems.

The link you want to use from Photobucket is listed as "Direct" on the right side of the screen. At least that's what I use and it enlarges the picture when its clicked on.

I hope that is helpful. It is rather annoying when you click on a picture and it brings you to a new website, instead of enlarging the photo.

Second that. I use the "direct" link as well, works great.

When you post an image to a image site, you generally have options such as:

Html for websites looks like this:
    Code:
    <a href="http://tinypic.com?ref=2lsxxch" target="_blank"><img src="http://i59.tinypic.com/2lsxxch.jpg" border="0" alt="Image and video hosting by TinyPic"></a>
IMG code for forums looks like this:
    Code:
    [IMG]http://i59.tinypic.com/2lsxxch.jpg[/IMG]
    Direct link looks like this:
    Code:
    http://i59.tinypic.com/2lsxxch.jpg
The "direct link" is what you want

Hey guys - tried direct link this time and all it did was put a link in the post... no photo at all, just the link - any clues what's wrong with me?

On more try with my own pics.....seems to work without photobucket or imgur if you already have the pics posted on Facebook, it's as easy and opening in new window and then cut and paste the link using the " image button" (with the mountains and sun, to the right of the smiley face.)
