    ...is open.

I happen to work in the same building, so stopped by today after work. I think their 'announced' opening is tomorrow (thursday).

Only had time for 1 beer, but enjoyed the space. A little more 'nautical' than pirate, I'd say. As for the beer, 8 Heavy Seas taps, the regular rotation + 1 seasonal. I was disappointed to not see any one-offs or rarities among the taps. Thought they might at least have Siren Noir on, or something like that.

6 guest taps, all local-ish (5 from Virginia and 1 NC), and maybe a dozen or so other bottle selections.

Didn't try the food on this visit.

So, nothing revolutionary here...but hopefully a solid place in a neighborhood (Rosslyn) that is pretty starved for good beer...or even a proper bar for that matter.

After they are up and running and get the kinks out of their operation you should visit again and do a review. Place reviews last longer than threads.

Where is it at in Arlington? Quick google search and I couldn't find any info.

    Rosslyn. One of Arlington's armpits.

    (Crystal City being the other).

I don't think Heavy Seas really does one-offs, when they do events, even at their brewery they generally just have casks etc. Which I assume they will bring to the ALE House. Since you were probably there for the soft opening, they could be working out kinds etc. before they try to make a splash with their casks and seasonals. The Big DIPA is being released soon so I bet they will have that.

These are licensed in the same vein that the Dogfish Ale Houses are, I think it's Hugh Sisson's son who is running in though, so not technically owned by the brewery.

Yeah, I'd be hoping for a Cabernet below decks or something like that.

Forgot to mention that they did have a couple offerings on cask. Black Cannon and Peg leg.

One thing that sounds different (at least in comparison to the HS Alehouse in Baltimore), is that they have some guest taps as well. Unless things have changed recently, the one in Baltimore just pours HS beers on draft, with a couple of cask offerings as well. (they have a limited guest bottle selection however)

Otherwise, this sounds fairly similar to the version up in Baltimore. The one there rotates different seasonals and limited release beers periodically, but otherwise has most of the "usuasl suspects" from HS on offer there (Loose Cannon, Small craft warning, powder monkey, etc.). I've always thought that it would make sense for the one in Baltimore to add a few guest taps as well, as most of the stuff they have on offer you can typically find at places like Max's, Alewife and the Brewer's Cask (and for less money, generally). The one in Baltimore is just a couple miles from Max's (if that), and maybe 3 miles or so from Alewife (one of the reasons I tended to never go there).
