Ill be going here on Sunday with some friends for CCBW and hopefully visiting other places along the way but a few questions i have. Say i get there in the afternoon on Sunday? Is there a crazy wait for a table? I just want a sandwich and some beer but i ideally i would not like to wait for an hour Growlers? Do they fill other growlers or only their own? For a new growler plus a fill what is the price of that? (broke college student, not trying to blow a whole paycheck....but im willing ) Glassware? DO they sell glassware? I havent been to many breweries (only one really...FFF) and id like to get some glassware from them just because. Thank you all for the feedback in advance. Cheers!
Not sure if they do growler fills other than in their own containers. Last time I was in they had pint glasses for sale but no special tulips. The growler fills vary on the type of beer but they will fill it with whatever you want. Last summer I was able to get a fill of the barrel aged indignant which cost me 36$. If you are going this Sunday and they still have it grab a Mathias (DIPA made with Citra Hops). Never really waited long for a table but when the place gets full it can get extremely loud because every single wall is made of concrete, that would be my only complaint about the place.
I have seen them fill other brown glass. Not sure how they feel about clear growlers. Like ChefBergo said, Sunday should be fine, especially if there aren't any Chicago baseball games on.
I've only seen branded pint glasses available. The seating area in Haymarket is very large, especiallly if the back bar is open, so you should be fine. The growler itself is probably about $6 and the fills vary on price depending on the brew. It's roughly 4 x 12 oz. price on the beer menu. BA Indignant was especially expensive since it was a barrel aged imperial stout.
Hi! This is Kris from Haymarket, and I'm so glad to hear you're stopping in on Sunday! There could be a bit of a crowd due to the Cubs/Sox game, but you should still be able to get a table pretty quickly. You can also eat at the bar if you're able to grab a seat there. Our outdoor patio will be open if the weather is nice. We are cool with filling other growlers as long as they're clean, so definitely bring one (or two or five) in if you have some empties you need to fill. Price will vary depending on what you order. We do sell logo pint glasses, t-shirts, bottle openers, etc. Enjoy CCBW, and we look forward to seeing you at Haymarket! Cheers, Kris
Thank you for the reply! And i will definitely bring in my growler....or maybe just get one of yours. They look sweet! and a shirt...a glass or two...a bottle opener lol What are the prices of things? Id like to know how broke i am going to be after sunday so i can plan the rest of my week accordingly
So i got there today. Food was great and the beer was equally as great. I had the Rubber Monkey (despite some reviews i thought it was excellent. I would have gotten a growler but it wasnt allowed on trains) and Mathias Imperial IPA which was also amazing. Great beers at HayMarket. I cant wait to go back over and over
